I am amazed at how the PP's delusion party continues to lie; they are not even ashamed of what they are doing. PP's party continues to make propaganda against Eritrea, despite Eritrea having been patient with the Ethiopian elite in the past, and still is today. Their relentless campaigns undermine regional stability and fuel mutual distrust, while bypassing constructive differences. If they genuinely seek peace, they should commit to verifiable concessions, transparent negotiations, and respect for national sovereignty, instead of resorting to inflammatory rhetoric and manufactured crises. Ethiopians know the truth, but the PP continues to lie about Eritrea. Their persistence only compounds tensions, eroding trust and jeopardizing fragile diplomatic channels. A sincere path to lasting stability requires accountable leadership, factual discourse, and mutual recognition of each nation’s core interests, backed by verifiable pledges, independent verification, and international mediation to restore confidence and pave the way for durable peace. Their rhetoric masks hidden agendas while offering no tangible framework for cooperation. True progress demands restraint, adherence to international law, and concrete steps toward demilitarization, humanitarian access, and long-term reconciliation that respects each state’s sovereignty and fosters durable regional stability. The first thing they should know about Eritrea is that it will never bow down to anyone is committed to its independence, security, and development. Indeed, the article (Al Jazeera, 11 June 2026) by mercurial Getachew Reda (PP's Advisor for East African Affairs); and Redwan Hussein, (PP's Director General for National Intelligence and Security Services) accentuates, in more graphic terms, this poignant reality.

Let us revert to the facts:

1. The tragic war that ravaged Ethiopia for two years from 4 November 2020 until 2 November 2022 with devastating consequences stemmed from, and has its roots in, Ethiopia's internal and perennial ethnic cleavages. Eritrea was dragged into the imposed conflict at the behest of the Federal Government, and more importantly, due to the broad objectives of the war agenda that explicitly included and targeted Eritrea itself. This is on the public record. As one of the principal architects and fervent advocates of the war, Getachew Redda is intimately aware of all these facts; a matter that is easily validated by his numerous posts under his X handle in those tragic times.
2. At the end of the war, PP political and military leaders from the Prime Minister downwards, profusely expressed their profound gratitude to Eritrea. Again, this is on the public record.

Getachew Reda and Redwan Hussein weave a theatrical and fictitious story about the consternation of their South African Hosts in Pretoria as the "negotiating team from the two warring parties would get into a fist fight in the middle of the Conference Hall if not shepherded to steer clear of one another".
3. Problem with this fictitious and romanticized story is the Parties had, in fact, held secret meetings in Djibouti and Seychelles months back under the sponsorship of US and EU "Peace Facilitators". And as it was later divulged by Getachew Redda himself, the two Teams had contemplated prompt reconciliation, reportedly under the prodding of the PP Party, to join forces and wage a war of aggression against Eritrea that they both agreed was, in their contorted views, "the ultimate threat to them". These meetings took place in August 2022; when the war was still raging ferociously. A Confidential EU Report issued in September 2022 further corroborated this "imminent trend".
4. The Pretoria Agreement is essentially a peace-pact between warring sides in Ethiopia. It is, and remains, an Ethiopian affair; purely and exclusively. Eritrea's stance and support to the Pretoria Agreement stems from its principled desire and commitment to promote regional peace and stability. In this sense, Eritrea has neither the political appetite nor the interest to scuttle an agreement between Ethiopian political forces if all the parties indeed implement the provisions of the agreement in good faith.
5. In this perspective, PP's current propaganda and transparent disinformation campaigns, as epitomized by the article in question, are designed to re-package the unprovoked agenda of conflict and hostility that it has unleashed against Eritrea since December 2023 in the quest of what it calls "sovereign access to the sea", in "self-defense" terms.

President Isaias Afwerki and his host, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, held extensive talks in Cairo today on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual importance.

The two leaders agreed to deepen and elevate the historical and brotherly ties of friendship and cooperation that exist between the two countries to a higher level.

In this respect, President Isaias Afwerki and President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi agreed on the launching of concrete programmes in the sectors of marine resources, development of port infrastructure, and maritime transport within the overall economic, political and diplomatic frameworks and agreements reached in the past.

The two leaders also discussed, in greater detail, the economic, political, diplomatic and security dimensions of developments and trends in the Red Sea, the Middle East, the Horn of Africa and other international matters of mutual interest.

President Isaias Afwerki received, at the Denden Guest House in the late morning hours today, senior Egyptian delegation composed of Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty; the Minister of Transportation, Lt. General Engineer Kamel Alwazir; and CEO's of several companies involved in the transport, energy and mining sectors.

The extensive discussions centered on further enhancement of all-rounded bilateral ties of cooperation as well as regional and international issues of mutual importance.

President Isaias underlined the significance of consolidating the all-rounded ties between Eritrea and Egypt to advance the mutual interests of the Eritrean and Egyptian peoples. In this respect, President Isaias expressed Eritrea's readiness to implement common projects in collaboration with Egyptian economic and trade companies.

Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, for his part, stated that the current visit was a manifestation and expression of the brotherly ties of friendship and cooperation that exist between the peoples of Eritrea and Egypt.

The principal purpose of the visit was to further consolidate economic and trade ties between the two countries in accordance with the guidelines charted out by President Isaias Afwerki and President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Dr. Badr noted.

On the occasion, the two countries signed an Agreement on Marine Transport "for developing cooperation in the sector with a view to contributing to the development of international shipping on the basis of the principles of the freedom of navigation".

In a world increasingly marked by conflict, instability, economic uncertainty, climate-related pressures, and geopolitical tensions, migration cannot be viewed in isolation from the broader global context. Durable solutions require addressing root causes, promoting equitable development, strengthening international cooperation, and ensuring that the dignity and rights of migrants and refugees are upheld. At the same time, it is equally important to recognize the legitimate concerns and responsibilities of States in managing migration in accordance with international law.

Early in my tenure @Eritrea_UN, I had the privilege of bringing the story of Adey Zeinab to the @UN during a showcase of women trailblazers from different countries.

Adey Zeinab is one of the most respected veterans of #Eritrea|s liberation struggle. She represents the thousands of #Eritrean women who joined the struggle for independence and helped redefine the role of women in society.

During the struggle, women made up nearly a third of the fighters, serving as combatants, medics, political educators, and leaders. Their participation was transformative not only for the revolution, but also for #Eritrea|n society.

Adey Zeinab’s story is a reminder that the journey of women’s empowerment in #Eritrea did not begin in conference halls; it was forged in the trenches of a national liberation movement and continues today through the nation-building efforts of women across the country.

It also reminds us that true leadership is not defined by a seat at the table, but by the work, sacrifice, and responsibility one carries in shaping the future of a nation. Seats may be given, but leadership is earned, through service, discipline, and the courage to shoulder the burdens of a people’s aspirations. The legacy of women like Adey Zeinab reminds us that the most transformative leaders are often those who step forward not for recognition, but for duty...

Inspiring Project/Proposal - The Port of Adulis: Awakening an Ancient Giant as a Modern Theme Park Marvel; by Ezra Musa

Based on research from the Eritrawi Podcast and the recent groundbreaking ERi-TV Documentary series “Facts vs Fairy Tales — Face to Face,” here is what an Adulis theme park could offer:

• The War Elephant Pavilion: Unlike any other attraction in the world, this zone would recreate the specialized “military technology” of the ancient world. Visitors could learn about the capture and training of the African forest elephant—the “ancient tanks” that made Adulis a “global arms dealer” of antiquity.

• The Aromatics Bazaar: Walk through a sensory recreation of the Land of Punt. This area would be a fragrant marketplace of frankincense and myrrh—the “indispensable resources” that once fueled the spiritual and medicinal life of Egypt and Rome.

• The Marble Throne & The High Court: A centerpiece of the park would be a reconstruction of the Throne of Adulis, carved from a single block of white marble. This was a symbol of “supreme legal governance” where justice was served for the entire region.

• The Architecture of Power: Using “graduated masonry”—a unique Eritrean engineering feat—the park would feature buildings designed to withstand the impact of five-ton elephants.
