GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY: Yesterday we inspected roadworks we have initiated and supported in Gulu District, Acutomer Village. The new road which was previously a footpath is over 6 kilometers. Before that we had begun by grading a 5 kilometer stretch from Moroto Road which is part of Gulu City.
We have done this in partnership with Ministry of Works and Gulu District. They provide the machines (grader, bulldozer, roller/compactor and low bed truck) and we pay the operators and buy fuel. It is costly but seeing the smiles on the faces of the residents is our biggest reward. Building community roads from scratch is something we have done since 2008.
Now the community can take what they produce in their gardens to the market. In addition, when they fall sick vehicles can reach their homes and take them to hospital instead of being carried on makeshift stretchers to reach a motor-able road.
🇺🇬 “No, I have one which, you rightly, it has expired.”
Rt. Hon. Jacob Marksons Oboth said his driving licence had expired and explained that he had not found time to visit the licensing offices to renew it.
He granted permission for a two-week driving-licence service at Parliament after Fred Byamukama requested space in its parking area.

Passenger Train to cross the Nile again
Greetings good people.
We have been cooking on all fronts to extend our services wide and far.
Preparations for the train to Jinja are in the final phase. We have heard the calls, and as listening sector players, it is incumbent upon us to respond to the calls.
This trip will start as a weekend service. We shall depart Kampala on Fridays and return on Sundays. We are not talking years to come. This is happening this year 2026.
After the acquisition of more rolling stock (a process that is ongoing), the trips to and from Jinja will increase. The target is to have a daily scheduled train crossing the Nile.
Next up,
1. Preperations for AfCON
2. Clearance of ALL ENCROACHMENT on URC land. We heard the calls, it is time to clear the reserve completly.
@Airtel_Ug I paid 250k monthly subscription for my microwave package more than 7 days ago following your guidance unfortunately to date not even the agent you assigned to me picks my calls. I am only requesting that you make it easy for me to utilize my hard earned money.
Thanks
Had the privilege of being part of an induction training for the members and staff on the Sectoral Committee of Legal and Parliamentary Affairs. The induction training focused on the criticality of the Committee on legal and Parliamentary Affairs.
It was an honor yesterday being part of a delegation of the Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee meeting with the Chief Justice and Judiciary Top Mgt. The meeting was intended to among others discuss the efficient delivery of Justice to Ugandans.

Deputy Speaker @Thomas_Tayebwa has appealed to the East African Community (EAC) member states to fast-track the harmonisation of laws and policies across the region if the integration agenda is to be realised.
Critical among them is the elimination of non-tariff barriers to ease the free movement of goods and services.
He also emphasised the need for member states to collectively strengthen parliamentary oversight on government institutions to bring services closer to the people and directly engage citizens as the true owners of the integration.
"As member states, we need to move away from deliberations [boardroom meetings] and go for deliveries," he said.
Tayebwa was speaking at the official launch of the EAC Parliamentary Week at Parliament under the theme: "Advancing the East African Community agenda through legislative dialogue."
