I actually talked about this quite a bit about this motif from Chinese culture in one of my latest video (https://t.co/NBbiu3PCAn), but this cinematic short really emphasises the real message of Mengzhou, 万家灯火, being the endurance of civilisation through ages and turmoil through the metaphor of light and fires.

"灯火万家城四畔，星河一道水中央"
“Lamplight from ten thousand homes surrounds the four sides of the city, / A single band of the Milky Way reflects across the middle of the water.” (Bai Juyi)

You can even find Suisui saying it best: "...wherever cooking smoke curls, there is the mortal world; wherever lanternlight glows, there is a prosperous age."

Hsin, even from what we know of her descriptions and lore talks about this A LOT. "To wlak amongst their joys, and stand guard...amidst the everglowing lanterns...she has long kept the fires of mortal life burning amidst the shift of the seasons."

Besides that, we got to see Hsin's disguise transformation that was actually talked about in Qingxiao's story :)

今回の『ナツキ・スバル』ですが、『ゼロから』や『俺を選べ』と同じように、リゼロを書く上でやりたいなーと思っていた内容の1本です。六章で何をしたかったかと言えば、ナツキ・スバルにナツキ・スバルを見せたかった、というお話。
演出も演技も、最高の1話でした。原作者狂喜乱舞。
