If the Nobel Committee denies Trump a peace prize even after so much hustle, he can approach us. We can arrange a ‘Nobel’ for him, just like we once arranged UNESCO award for Periyar.

In 1970, Periyar was honored by UNESCO with a citation calling him Prophet of a New Age, Socrates of South Asia, Father of the Social Reform Movement, Arch Enemy of ignorance, superstitions, meaningless customs, and base manners.

This found its way into school textbooks, exams, and even the Tamil Nadu state civil services papers with questions like who is called the Socrates of South Asia. But here’s the catch: the award wasn’t from UNESCO itself, but from a local Tamil Nadu club calling itself UNESCO Manram, a group of volunteers claiming to promote UNESCO’s ideals. The fake glorification continued for 50 years until in 2021, the Madras HC ordered its removal from textbooks.

On the same lines, we can start an NGO named Nobel Peace Prize Cooperative Society Ltd. and crown Trump the ‘Gandhi of the West,’ along with a Nobel Peace Prize.
