@5CMSomersPark @SomersPark5VD @SevernArts This afternoon, our amazing Year 5 performed to their parents. Violins, steel pans and percussion were all tremendous. Well done, children.
Year 5 were extremely fortunate to not only be involved in Karl Nova's assembly but also a workshop this morning! He was absolutely fantastic and as you can see from their faces, all the children were totally engrossed in his stories!
5CM have been making a set for an animation this week in art, based on our class reader: Wild Boy. They researched, designed and then produced the inside of a caravan using mixed media. Wow!!
Somers Park are so proud of these boys who, alongside their team mates from different schools, won The Mercian League yesterday, playing for their 'Deportivo' team which is part of Leigh and Bransford Badgers FC. Well done boys ⚽️🏆. @SomersPark5VD
Yesterday, 5CM were using their oracy skills to have an intelligent debate about how social media has a positive and negative influence on our lifestyles. The way they organised their ideas and used appropriate sentence openers was impressive.
Yesterday, some year 4's and year 5's performed brilliantly in front of an audience using various instruments. It was lovely to see them play with such confidence and enthusiasm! #severnarts
5CM have made the most fantastic bread today with their own choice of ingredients. Everyone's worked out really well and the children enjoyed tasting and evaluating their rolls this afternoon.
5CM are reading Kensuke's Kingdom. Today their oracy skills were on show as they debated whether Michael should be allowed to travel around the world on a sailing boat. There were some great pros and cons and convincing arguments for both sides were made.
So, today 5CM have been making parachutes to test the effects of air resistance. The children decided themselves which variable to change and we will be conducting our experiment next week. Here are some completed ones.
5CM had a wonderful afternoon evaluating a variety of bread rolls. They explored appearance, smell, texture and, most importantly, taste. Which was their favourite and why?
5CM have had their first Forest School session this afternoon! They've been exploring with equipment, building dens, making ladders and swinging on hammocks. Such fun!!!!
Today we discovered that red comes in many different shades! 5CM have enjoyed the opportunity to Wear Red for the Midlands Air Ambulance. Thank you for the kind donations!
