@strong_sistas Yeah I agree. I just can't find people who want to do herd shares so I have to move to doing sales per pound at markets or retail.

@Jeremiahh303 I will keep this in the veterinarian uses wheelhouse of my mind! Lambing season is over for me but next year it could be needed. Could work for a downed animal too. I hear flat dark beer can help too.

I get mine from Amish usually for over 50% less than store or grain mill purchased grains. I intend on doing grub/maggot boxes this year too! Gross but cheap!

@USDA @USDAFoodSafety I should be able to sell meats to local people without paying $1000+ in troll fees once I'm licensed! They act like it's a safety issue but it's not...

@Nutmegbunny9 Yes the Amish we get grain from was speaking on how they see problems on the food supply. He spoke on store bought bread not molding and a few other things. I'm glad to hear sugar has been brought up too!

@wilson_dunham_f My sheep herd tripled this winter and I need a bigger shelter. I bought Idaho pasture piglets that will grow up to breed more for me... So I need a farrowing area, a boar and sow area, and a feeder pig area. More fencing. 😅It never ends

Being a shepherd has become a real light in life. I was cleaning out stalls yesterday and these guys were racing around. I have 1 more ewe expecting lambs. Maybe even today!

@ItsJustinRhodes I guess it depends? I had a flock of 20 African geese with 5 mature males. They were my buddies and ate from my hand, came for snuggles too! Coyote jumped into the pen and they beat the crap out of it, with one goose on its back ripping hair out of it.That Yote probably got ptsd

Homesteader my whole life but now Im preparing to get certified for small farm meat sales. It just makes sense to use this to serve the community healthy options.
