Rise Mzansi has my vote. Good policies, no career politicians, sober and inspiratiomal leadership, a young team and a rational approach to identifying problems and fixing them. AND a refreshing absence of divisive rhetoric.
Just in case you care to know.
List of Asylum seekers in South Africa by county of origin .
1. Ethiopia
2.DRC
3. Somalia
4. Zimbabwe
5. Bangladesh
6. Nigeria
7. Burundi
8. Palestine
9. Burundi
10. Malawi
The rejection rates are as high as in the 80 percentiles.
With only about 17% approvals.
These numbers - although a true reflection of people who present themselves forward, are a fallacy. “The straw man”
The real issue - the real problem is the people who enter illegally and are not counted and reported as Asylum seekers and Refugees.
Cash money is their application form.
Thanks to @HomeAffairsSA and
@TheBMA_SA their lagging systems and corrupt officials.
The people who come in as students and then become entrepreneurs.
The people who fly in as tourists and never leave.
The people who send their passports to be stamped by corrupt Home Affairs Officials while they work freely and pay bribes to SAPS.
The silent people who queue with our Gogos at Clinics.
Are you middle class?
Your domestic workers, child’s nanny, restaurant workers, construction workers , hairstylists and street hawkers.
They must eke out a living somehow! Living is South Africa is expensive and they must still send money home.
They need healthcare, education, water, sanitation, electricity…
So once in, they use the Asylum loophole.
An endless application process that will never end because the corruption is at the border gate - inside Home Affairs itself.
It’s a revenue stream for corrupt officials and SAPS. Why would they stop it?
You and I know this because we have seen this- anecdotally = our lived experiences. And this is where the debate is lost. It’s anecdotal and therefore “not relevant”.
The “experts” and the decision makers live a life so far removed from the average citizen even their domestic staff is paid for by us!
So no one investigates- they don’t want to.
Why would they? It’s not impacting them .
Infact some prefer it because of all the cheap labour it provides .
There is benefit to every crisis and our politicians have mastered the art of crisis profitably. Some businesses and experts as well!
Enter the language of freedom that we know.
The language we were taught.
Violence. Fire!
We even sing about it.
So, nope, yesterday’s violence was infact, very much expected- it’s our lived experience- a national language. Violence and fire!
And they heard it!

Hold on, may I please chip in there:
There is nothing wrong with that asylum ConCourt judgment. I am happy that the protests that we currently are seeing are not at the ConCourt.
1. We do not have a problem of asylum seekers. Because there are not many genuine asylum seekers in South Africa.
2. What we have is a seemingly unmitigated illegal economic immigration, with people dishonesty and possibly fraudulently using the asylum principle to justify both their unlawful entrance to and the continued unlawful stay in the Republic.
Unfortunately, the ConCourt cannot possibly cure such problem. Because, by its nature, asylum process involves illegal entrance into the host country.
It is the responsibility of the government to scan through the (dishonest and possibly fraudulent) crowd and assist genuine asylum seekers and do so speedily.
It’s your fault. You incited and instigated this from the beginning with lies. Now you act is you have a solution while it was you who created the problem to begin with.
We will not forget your treachery.
Borrow @Rise_Mzansi your vote 🗳️ for 5 years and see what ethical leadership not comprised of career politicians looks like.
If they disappoint, choose differently. Thats is the power the ballot affords you. No political owes you undying loyalty if they betray your trust.
So far, with the few seats RISE holds, they’ve punched far above their weight in terms of leadership, governance and accountability.
@LukhonaMnguni holds a Masters in Africa and International Development and can breakdown the various Municipal Acts in plain language so that we can understand what is and isn’t possible within the scope of local administration and executive oversight.
This is a party of serious people committed to governing in a way that delivers dignity, equality and prosperity for all South Africans irrespective of the accident of birth.

@Rise_Mzansi@ForGoodZA The vote is important for the youth!
We need to remind them that the outcome of this election will have a long term effect on the rest of their lives
I’m old and will not experience the long term consequences like they will
Please create a nation of voters!

Gents who cannot take no” for an answer, what did we learn this weekend?
✨consequences✨
Leave women who don’t want to talk to you alone.
Women do not owe you their attention, time, a conversation, a date, affection or their bodies.
You cannot walk through life thinking strangers owe you something. No one owes you anything.
“No” is a full sentence. It requires no explanation.
Your disappointment at a “no” is not an assault on your dignity. It is a simple “no” - a boundary every human being has a right to set and you must respect.
You don’t think so? Best wishes with your future endeavours. Actions have consequences. Ask Lawrence Mudzinganyama.
There should be a special place in hell that is reserved for people who use a national tragedy - the murders of nine women - to advance their ideology of hatred. As i always say they do not have legitimate concerns. They are just a vile xenophobic hate group
