@docm77 Agreed. It makes me really hesitant to try new videos / creators that I'm not familiar with because it will choke out all the stuff that I DO want to see. It's having the opposite effect of what YT wants.
@Geahk_Burchill @ThinkingAtheist You're correct that it's misleading, but not quite that way. The arrows are immaterial to the illusion, but the line dimensions don't change. What's changing is the patterns of how the light moves within the lines themselves. Wish there'd been a source cited.
@Nurseryman75@ThinkingAtheist Thanks for sharing the source on this! It seemed very carefully worded to play on assumptions and it was obviously successful even with some skeptical people. Kind of a fascinating look at human quirks π
@ravenscimaven When my high-school aged kiddo was in elementary school, his teachers did this so the tech exists. I believe it was called Remind, and the teachers could send bulk messages to all parents and reply to individual responses. It doesn't seem hard to adapt to college level.
@BadAstronomer Thanks so much for the recommendation! I looked at these, but I wasn't sure if it was legit or just fancy junk marketed as cool bits. If it's legit tho, it's definitely on my shopping list now!
@HowtoADHD Chiming in as a Heart, I tell my teenager it depends on the context. In many contexts it's a disability; school is a great example. But it will likely be an asset in their chosen hands-on profession. And of course I love the whip-fast wit it gives them! π
@iJevin I think Scar mentioned that some of the funds would go to Hermits' local communities... Does that mean some will go Dayton Children's? Had 4 surgeries there when I was a kid. Would love to see them benefit! π
@adhdjesse Oh. Oh wow. That explains a lot about my ADHD teen who has always been choosy about his food, baffling us when a thing he loved one day became intolerable the next. Huh.
