India hosted three Grands Prix 2011, 2012, 2013 on a privately built, world-class circuit. It died because UPA refused F1 the customs relief given to CWG and the Cricket World Cup, and because SP refused to call it sport. Mayawati had given an entertainment-tax exemption. Akhilesh moved to kill it, taxed the tickets, and sent the promoter to the Supreme Court. In 2011, the year of the first race, FMSCI was dropped from the NSF list. Motorsport was recognised in 2015 after UPA left.

Jaypee sank about Rs.2,000 crore of private money into BIC. Most F1 tracks have a state behind them. India loaded the bill on a promoter, then acted shocked when the calendar went blank.

BIC was not gifted. Jaypee collapsed under ~Rs.57,000 crore of debt. The asset moved through IBC. Adani’s plan cleared NCLT and NCLAT. Vedanta bid too. That is insolvency court, not a suitcase.

The NITI panel is Sports, Commerce, Tourism, CBDT, CBIC, two states, two circuits and FMSCI. Its job is the wreckage your governments left, and whether a race in 2028 is viable.

You taxed the sport off the grid. They are trying to put it back. Don’t call the cleanup cronyism.

The simple point is this: 96% of P2M UPI transactions will remain outside MDR.

Not 96% of the value.
Not 96% of some selected category.
96% of the actual merchant transactions by number.

Only around 4% of merchant transactions will attract MDR.

And P2P is completely outside the MDR framework anyway, irrespective of the amount.

So if the argument is about how many UPI transactions will actually be affected, the answer is right there in the official data: the overwhelming majority will remain untouched.

You can keep highlighting the 67% value figure, but that does not turn 67% of transactions into MDR transactions.

Volume and value are two different things.

Sometimes the simplest number is also the one people try hardest to avoid.
