Admittedly I'm biased here, but I have always preferred baseball on radio to baseball on TV. It allows telling the story of the game and telling other stories. No better companion on a long drive than a baseball game on the radio. Respectfully, Mr. Sampson is wrong.
I love baseball on radio!! I prefer over television and have for many years. Some people don't know what they're talking about. They say it's no longer needed obviously... not a lover of baseball.
After 20+ years behind the mic, I'll say it plainly: radio is still the most direct line from a team to its fans. It's in the car, on the job site, on the tractor. No paywall, no login, just a voice painting the picture. Baseball was built for that, and it still is. The game in its purest form.
@karinjohnson Did you see on FB some said the home owners fatal car crash was in Salt Lake? Could be why one can't find records locally. Where is her family? I hope answers are found for the family of the missing dead man. tragic.
We prefer the Reds radio broadcast over tv! If we do have tv on its, muted usually. unless Cowboy is on tv. Radio is more intimate than TV, too :) Radio guys better than the 2 main tv dudes, too ! Tommy, Cowboy and Chris! XOXO
The obvious overlooked fact here is that radio is incredibly cheap to produce: two broadcasters, a local radio engineer and a phone line is all you need. Radio doesn’t compete with TV but complements the TV broadcast. Baseball is better with both.
@Barrett_Media@DavidPSamson@JohnMamola@DavidPSamson, I turned off the biassed Fox coverage and listened to game 5 on ESPN radio. Much better. I listen to the Giants all season long on KNBR. I will now end this tweet before I start using unladylike words.
@Barrett_Media@DavidPSamson@JohnMamola What a dumbass. Baseball on the radio is one of the most beautiful, unique parts of the sport. The radio broadcasts paint a picture of the game, unlike the tv commentary searching for opinion. The radio is pure.
I'm late learning this news....but thought I'd pass along.
Legendary Cincinnati radio (@webn) personality Dennis 'Wildman' Walker could use some help. He suffered a serious fall that has turned his life upside down.
He spent about seven weeks in a rehab facility. A month ago, he was unable to walk without help. But he made progress and was able to return home on October 11.
But he's dealing with unexpected medical bills, stress, and the everyday challenge of keeping up with living expenses while healing.
A Go Fund Me has been setup to help Wildman with his costs:

I need to say something that I wish more MD's said.
Cold and flu season is NOT actually "a season".
It's Halloween candy followed by Thanksgiving pie, followed by Christmas cookies, followed by New Year's drinks, followed by Valentine's Day chocolate.
Four straight months of sugar, processed foods, stress, and disrupted sleep.
And then we act surprised when everyone gets sick.
Cancer’s a huge business—they even gave it its own month. They hand out the pretty pink ribbons for breast cancer survivors and turn the whole thing into a big donation push.
A lot of those women went through surgery, radiation, and chemo they might not have needed, especially with all the screening that catches stuff that never would have grown. Then they stick them on hormone blockers for years afterward.
When will people realize this isn’t really about awareness—it’s about making more money?
@drewhastings that is so true...on both sides! Exhausting as HECK to figure out facts from fiction and crooks. *sigh* the secret deals. Doesn't matter who u vote for anymore :( Lobbyist/special interest change minds after elected.
@Vicky813@lucillemagill yes. our house got one. You need to be on basic Medicare. NOT the HMO?Medicare plans. Got it Oct 9th. got the letter last week. It's a real thing for those who qualify.
SORRY IF THIS OFFENDS GROCERY EXECUTIVES, BUT I’M DONE.
I just pulled a $4.99 box of cereal off the shelf, brought it to the register, and watched the scanner ring it up as $7.49.
When I told the cashier, she said: "Oh, that’s the digital coupon price. You have to download our store app, create an account, search for the item, and clip the digital coupon before scanning."
ABSOLUTELY NOT.
You inflated the shelf price by 50%, locked the normal price behind an app, and forced me to hand over my personal phone data and email just to pay the actual retail value of a box of food?
Stop hiding basic shelf pricing behind data-harvesting apps.
@DrJoelGator@DrJoelGator you know that is a fake ai story about children's hospital? These fake, long feel good stories or traumatic, are all Ai. this 1 registered from Nigeria...or so twitter said a minute ago. I didnt get the screen shot.
