On day 430 of Georgia’s uninterrupted protest, thousands marched on Rustaveli avenue despite the escalating repression of the Georgian Dream regime.

No different than the USSR, when all foreign grants had to go through the central govt. To accept scholarships like Fulbright or Erasmus was a criminal offense. It was tyranny then, and this is tyranny now.
The Batumi City Court has ordered the pre-trial detention of Mzia Amaghlobeli, founder of the independent news outlets Netgazeti and Batumelebi.
The decision was announced by Judge Nino Sakhelashvili, who upheld the prosecution’s motion to impose detention as a preventive measure rejecting bail and citing “risk of repeatedly committing crime.”
Amaghlobeli, a prominent media manager, was detained twice on the evenings of January 11 and 12. The first arrest occurred after she displayed a protest poster reading, "Georgia is on Strike." She was later detained again, accused of slapping Batumi Police Chief Irakli Dgebuadze during a confrontation. The charges of assaulting a police officer carry a potential prison sentence of four to seven years under Georgian law.
The incident reportedly followed tensions and clashes between demonstrators and law enforcement, which witnesses attribute to provocations by the police.
Joint Statement by Nordic Baltic Foreign Ministers on Situation in Georgia:
”We are seriously concerned about the situation in Georgia.
We have called for a thorough and impartial investigation into the irregularities reported ahead of and during the parliamentary elections on 26 October.
We have condemned violence and intimidation against peaceful protesters, politicians and media representatives; and we deplore the threats directed towards President Zourabishvili.
As long-standing friends of Georgia, and supporters of the European aspirations of the Georgian people, we are alarmed by the country’s path toward deeper polarisation and crisis.
Georgia urgently needs a way out of the crisis, and to restore public trust in its democratic institutions. We urge the Georgian authorities to take immediate steps in this direction, including by implementing OSCE electoral recommendations and by considering the possibility of new elections based on these recommendations.”
Protest przed Parlamentem w Tbilisi. Ludzie pokazują czerwone kartki prorosyjskim uzurpatorom. Flagi unijne, amerykańskie i NATO to znak aspiracji euroatlantyckich narodu gruzińskiego ✌️🇬🇪🇪🇺🇺🇸
@Zourabichvili_S saved Georgia's honor! No one should recognize the so-called new "President" of 🇬🇪 or legitimize him through invitations or visits. He was elected by MPs who won their mandates through rigged elections. 🇬🇪 needs free+fair elections asap.
Today, as ever, we stand with the people of Georgia in their fight for freedom, democracy, and a European future. Your courage and determination inspire us all, and Moldova remains by your side on this shared path.
Just another day in a "traditional" European democracy where no one can take the "dream party" seriously, and a person, only elected and acknowledged by his own party, is inaugurated in a semi-secret ceremony.
Georgia must either be redefining democracy or skipping the whole parliament and president thing altogether.
Dear Minister Baerbock, the situation in the 🇪🇺 candidate country 🇬🇪 is worsening by the day. The foreign ministers of the Weimar Triangle (🇫🇷 🇩🇪 🇵🇱) must go to Tbilisi now. The European Parliament's resolution on 🇬🇪 and the experience of the Baltics show the way forward.
Called President @Zourabichvili_S to reaffirm support for the 🇬🇪 people’s🇪🇺 aspirations. For 🇬🇪's future, it is imperative for authorities to find ways to rebuild trust in democratic processes. Strongly condemn violence against peaceful protesters & threats against the President.
Next week, I will introduce the Georgian Nightmare Non-Recognition Act, which will prohibit U.S. recognition of the illegal dictatorial regime in Georgia and recognize @Zourabichvili_S as the only legitimate leader in Georgia until such a time as free and fair elections are held.
As the only legitimate leader in Georgia, I am grateful to extend an invite to President @Zourabichvili_S to attend the inauguration of President @realDonaldTrump. I am in awe of her courage in the face of the assault by Ivanishvili and his friends in the CCP & Iranian regime.
