A great morning for our parkrun saw just shy of 1200 parkrunners and parkwalkers wend their way across The Common for our event

Massive thanks go to all of our happy smiling volunteers for the positive energy you create and also to RD Nic for managing today's proceedings.

The next day it was on the ground again, parents nearby, calling, calling. Not wasting any time, I popped it straight back in the nest box (of course it could have been a sibling!) the cat prowling nearby…. @HantsIWWildlife @WoodlandTrust

I tried putting it in the hedge, on a twig and higher up nearer the nest box. The parents were calling constantly. Eventually I decided to put it back in its nest box …. @Natures_Voice

Hooray! I made it to Day 30 #30DaysWild posting a photo every day. I saved my favourite to last and it happened in May! I found a baby blue tit in the little pond and lifted it onto a rock to dry off. It couldn’t fly…. almost but not quite

The third day, so near to flying and still the parents had not abandoned it. But it could not fly. Back in the box and the next day - gone! Of course that’s the fairy story. When the box is cleaned out in the autumn, I’ll find out if any didn’t make it. Great nature watching
