@chrsmln I knew Martin not from academia but from his home town. He wore his learning lightly, would rather talk about Dylan, Python or Pete and Dud. He was generous and witty and handy to have at a quiz. Rest in peace, Martin.
@chrsmln So sad to hear this news but forever grateful I got to know Martin and collaborate with him. Wise, witty, generous and kind, Martin invited everybody onto the memory dance floor and wrote the music for so many of us. So many great memories of him. Vale Martin!

This review article synthesises all Martin’s thoughts and contributions to the field. I have fond memories of having bacon rolls at breakfast and discussing this with Martin when he first arrived in Leeds. (2005)
I am sad to share the news that Professor Martin Anthony Conway passed away on Wednesday 30th March 2022. He died peacefully in the company of his wife Judith and his children. Martin was far more than simply a prolific and creative researcher for all those that knew him. 1/n

Marie Curie died of aplastic anaemia on 4 July 1934, a result of years of exposure to radiation through her work. Even today her laboratory notebook from 1899-1902, is radioactive and will be for 1,500 years.
Heartbreaking news: The legendary psychologist Aaron Beck passed away last night at the age of 100. Personally, he was a dear mentor and friend. I used to live in the building near door and we'd have tuna sandwiches together on Sundays at his place. Another legend gone. RIP, Tim.
Methodologism:
"Methodologism favors experimental and statistical methods over theoretical, social, and cultural approaches; ignores theoretical assumptions underlying research and deemphasizes the subject matter."
