@TheMightyGreedo @DrChrisSmith Great question. I would guess that what we see is a warped version of what the galaxy actually looks like. The furthest point of the galaxy occurred 100K years earlier than the closest point. But with galaxies the time scales are so huge, that’s but a tick of the galactic clock!
