DONALD KROODSMA - THE SINGING LIFE OF BIRDS
A classic. Kroodsma describes everything you need to know about bird sound in a captivating way based on his own questions and research.
Read this book and you will know more on the subject than 90% of all birdwatchers.
A comprehensive revised method for organising your field recordings.
Including folder structure, note taking with markers and regions, and DAW session setup to use forever.
It kills redundancy from the previous method and it's slightly faster.

Birds peak breeding is done and migration is slowly getting on its way. As #wildlifesound recordists it’s a great time to focus on grasshoppers and all relatives in the Orthoptera order. Info on sound recording and IDing grasshoppers on our FB:

@MelissaPons1 But I carry too much around (camera+lenses as well). So now looking to get a hard frame, front opening backpack with Molle system attachments. But the good ones, usually millitary grade are expensive. Investment for life though?
@MelissaPons1 Sorry to hear about the grandpa case. Must have been good to last that long!
Same as Andy I have moved to a 100L Osprey bag. Waterproof and light, easy to access gear. It even fits a 50cm parabolic reflector. Not good for hiking though.
