Literally no one cares about getting to Birmingham 20mins quicker. Better to use the cash to upgrade existing infrastructure.
It’s the same story across all govt departments
Receive post-tax income.
Risk said capital.
Capital appreciates.
Appreciation taxed at 18/24%.
Capital depreciates.
No tax refund applicable, only future tax write offs (if you have the guts to risk capital a second time).
It’s almost like the government doesn’t want you to invest outside of your S&S ISA.
At a minimum there should be further tax advantages for investing into British businesses.
Time to prioritise growth.
