Note preliminary: It appears Manitoba has set a new 24-hr provincial rain record with the storms on Tuesday night. I've confirmed a high-quality gauge measurement of 292 mm (11.48 in) approx. 2 km west of Stonewall. #mbstorm

My uncle sent me this from my grandparents place in North Kildonan. They have damage to their gazebo broken windows and roof.
They also had a foot of sewage water in their basement.

Historic storm for some. It's not every day that the Winnipeg area experiences baseball-sized hail, wind gusts near 100 km/h, confirmed tornado, and 250 mm of rain (perhaps 1 in 1000-year rain event). Lots of training of thunderstorms. #mbstorm

Major line of storms are going to be impacting Winnipeg, the red River Valley area. These storms could produce wind gust up to 120 km an hour or more, even though Environment Canada doesn’t have a red warning for the storms. #mbstorm
