I try but I can't watch programmes abt young people in care. The emotional labour involved in watching generation after generation of children barely touching adulthood abandoned in the name of "independence" is distressing. Internally revisiting the 80s I can only watch so much
As the school year ends, many teachers will be saying goodbye to their classes. A small transitional object that says goodbye tells children they were valued as part of the class and will be thought of in the future and can stay with them for a long time.
