The Sovereign Stack

Podcast focused on exploring individual sovereignty, via @reserveprotocol and @urbit

[The Sovereign Stack @Sovereign_Stack]

The Road to Reserve is a new series where we explore historical literature and events which have lead us to the @reserveprotocol.

In this first episode, we examine Fiat Money Inflation in France, by Andrew Dickson White.

An uncomfortable conversation that is going to need to be had soon is whether >10Mloc operating systems are a remotely good idea in the first place (answer : no) and whether we should actually just switch to microkernels (answer : yes).

Goodbye Windows, Mac, and yes, even Linux.

@sarlev_ I started using Notion for The Sovereign Stack coordination in like 2022 or 2023 and two weeks into using it, my entire workspace was suddenly gone one day. I messaged support and they basically pretended to not understand what had happened.

This has been obviously destined since Dario saw GPT-3 autocompleting a for-loop in python and was struck by a vision of our future.

My guess is that this has barely started, and that Super Worms are coming. There's never been a better time to build an intranet for your people.

[The Sovereign Stack @Sovereign_Stack]

You are going to fucking love Urbit.

This story shows how hilariously broken online identity verification is from all relevant angles.

1. Your SSN, DOB, address history, etc. are sitting in countless data breaches and data-broker dumps. They’re cheap and widely available to basically anyone who looks.

2. KYC/AML mostly just checks that the data exists and matches a real person. It doesn’t confirm the person signing up is actually the real person behind that identity.

Result: Amanda Smith spent three nights in jail and now faces up to six years in prison over a $1,000 CashApp scam account opened with her SSN and DOB. It wasn't necessarily opened by her, and the phone, IP, device, address, and other details don’t match.

The funniest (and yes, saddest) part is CashApp wouldn't give her information about the account because she can’t prove she’s the owner. Her personal info was good enough to open the account, but not good enough to access it in the future, apparently. To be clear, CashApp is likely just following the law here.

Anyway, we need to burn it all down and start fresh.

fuck it’s happening -

this is the best malfoid video i’ve seen yet and it’s clearly written and scripted by someone with a professional background

AI video models are finally good enough and it’s in the hands of people who can script and craft at the highest level

we live in such a feminine reality of busywork, switching focus, responding to "pings", hopping on "quick calls", "catching up".... total eradication of deep focus, total eradication of any sort of life actualization, fuck this gay earth

The product of Facebook Marketplace is not buying and selling, but the sharing of the petty buy/sell drama.
