🌍 Primary School Teachers’ “Teach with Earth from Space” workshop was a blast! 🎉

👩‍🏫 Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming primary school #teachers from several ESA Member States to our site in Belgium to explore #EarthObservation! 🛰️✨

🗺️ During this 2-day workshop, teachers were introduced to the Copernicus browser, accessing real #satellite images. They discovered how scientists study our planet from space and how to bring this knowledge to their classrooms. 📚

🌊 They also enjoyed hands-on experiments on Earth's seasons, the greenhouse effect, ocean currents, and the differences between weather and climate! 👩‍💻 Plus, they learned how to use Micro:bit devices to sense the environment and are now ready to investigate their local surroundings with their students. 🔎

This workshop is part of 🌟 ESA’s Teach with Space initiative 🌟 which offers a wealth of classroom activities and resources. Whether you are a primary or secondary school teacher, get ready to bring space topics into your STEM lessons! 👩‍🚀🛰️💫

🚀 Exciting news: The PoliSpace Team has successfully tested a model of their 6S CubeSat at the CubeSat Support Facility located at ESEC Redu, Belgium! 🛰️🎉

From 14 to 18 October, four students from Politecnico di Milano, Italy, conducted a vibration campaign of the Structural Thermal Model of their 6S CubeSat during the October 2024 test window of the ESA Academy's Fly Your Satellite! Test Opportunities. 🧑‍💻✨

🌠 The team previously participated in the Fly Your Satellite! Design Booster, another ESA Academy programme that allows student teams to consolidate their preliminary design with ESA specialists. After designing 6S, the PoliSpace Team has taken the project into testing thanks to Test Opportunities – demonstrating how the various ESA Academy programmes may support student teams in the typical development cycle of a space mission. 🌍🚀🛰️

🛠️ The primary aim of their test campaign was to carry out a series of vibration tests on the Structural-Thermal Model, which closely replicates the mechanical behaviour of the final version of the 6S CubeSat, in order to corelate the theoretical model with the reality. 📈🛰️

🚀 This campaign marked a crucial milestone toward finalising the design, providing a unique experience that strengthened the students' technical skills and deepened their passion for space engineering. 🌟
