I spoke at length with the journalist about the Earth Shadow result -- one of the strongest and clearest findings we have. Yet this central, and most important, fact was removed from the article. The significant deficit of transients inside the Earth’s geometric shadow (~42,000 km) is not a detail. It directly rules out the ‘plate defect’ explanation the LiveScience article leans on. Plate defects do not know where the Earth’s shadow is on the glass plate. Omitting this result while repeating weak criticism creates a distorted picture of the research and misleads the public. This kind of selective presentation feeds stigma instead of informing readers.

Categorical @DeptofDefense evidence from their own declassified documents proving the @WSJ @joel_schectman explanation for the 1967 Malmstrom Capt Robert Salas deactification of 10 thermonuclear missiles was not an EMP test, as the WSJ preposterously claimed.
