I want to play the B.A.P “God Ape Quest “ but I am new how do I start, like really?

First I want to point out, B.A.P is a multi-media and entertainment company that brings several products and opportunities to its web3 community. The “God Ape Quest” is just one of those opportunities.

Ok just like any game, the B.A.P token game has many levels, The game launched one year ago so there are players that have been playing for quite a while. So, if you are just starting you will have a bit of catching up to do...

🎯 This post is targeted at new players with zero B.A.P assets

Note:
The God Ape Quest map clearly defines all the assets you will need to complete this quest on your own. What it does not do is explain a strategy on how to get there.

This is that strategy, but first I think it’s important to understand the type of potential costs involved and some reasoning on why you would spend it.

1.69 Eth is what you could expect to spend over the next 12 months on this quest, not all at once but have a plan.

If your response to this is I cannot afford it, don’t worry there are MANY other ways to enjoy BAP, and there many ways to profit inside of BAP maybe after enough profit, you would then decide to go after the God Ape. That is a different strategy for a different post.

Now assuming you are ok with the spend the next question is why the heck would I spend it?

The BAP eco-system is tiered, currently “Gods” sit at the very top meaning they produce the most amount of utility or “passive income” Now to be totally transparent NO ONE knows what the ape gods will produce or where they will sit in the food chain so to some degree you will be speculating.

I expect the Ape Gods (1K) to sit just under the Bull Gods (500) in both rank and utility production.

Note: if you would rather skip the quest and go directly to the top you can buy a Bull God on secondary the floor is currently 2.4 Eth.

Ok, other than owning a digital asset that looks badass and generates passive income why would you want to spend the money on the God Ape Quest?

1⃣ There is additional utility in the components you are buying for example,

🐂The OG Bulls open access to VC deal flow, a private channel in our discord where we are passed curated opportunities to invest in private startup companies. The curation includes experienced VC investors vetting the deals and negotiating reduced entry and carry.

What does this mean exactly? It means you can invest a small amount if desired eg. 2-5k at a low percentage, (fees the VC takes if a startup goes public or gets acquired).

🐂The OG bulls and other assets produce or amplify methane generation, this token is used for many things inside the BAP ecosystem and has a healthy and consistent value to players in the BAP ecosystem.

🐂The OG bulls produce other assets used in the game that can be sold for eth or more meth even traded for other assets BAP has a healthy trading economy and its own marketplace.

🐂Entertainment, the lore is engaging, and the in-game mechanics and economy is fun.

🐂Access to education, we have professionally produced training courses on web3 and finance.

🐂Community BAP is full of investors, entrepreneurs, and kick-ass people. The first IRL event was AWESOME!

🐂The BAP art is very diverse and highly collectible.

OK onto the strategy…. If you have money just stop here quit acting scared and jump in.

If you don’t have it like that I will outline a strategy you can use to slow roll your way into this thing. End of the day you may need to cancel that weekend getaway but I promise long term this is the better bang for your buck.

First I would buy some Methane tokens, Long story short, there was ~ an 8-month gap between season 1 (God Bulls) and season 2 ( God Apes) there is a surplus of meth in the eco-system which by simple supply and demand logic suggests the token is near or at the bottom as the Quest just started 1 week ago.

🧠I would buy as much meth as you can afford right now even more than the 15k needed because you can likely use the meth to get other components, farm phase 3 or sell some of your surplus for profit later as the surplus is depleted.
(This may have happened in season 1 🤷‍♂️)

I would suggest you buy ~ 25k tokens but first, you will need a teen bull, the teen bull will get you access to the tools and the meth will be your trading power.

These steps should cost you around .32 ETH

1⃣Buy teen bull on Opensea
2⃣Verify on discord
3⃣Visit the meth-token channel, land the 25k meth.

Next, you will need to learn to harvest your meth token.

1⃣Navigate to the BAP website ( my collection)
2⃣Connect wallet
3⃣Harvest meth ( you need to do this every day) it takes 30 seconds.

Ok now for the fun part…

Time to start your ape quest and pick a team! There are two main characters in the BAP lore right now, Vyl and Ava the community is split about 50/50 support-wise. This is purely for fun, as far as I know, there is no real strategic or financial reasoning in the decision. Once your quest is started you need to start taking the steps necessary to forge the quest traits.

Find your first ape!

You are looking for one that has formula traits on it already. On the BAP website once your wallet is connected click the formulas button and look through them to make notes of the traits you need to complete the different formulas.

Start watching the trading corner channel in Discord. Someone will be selling an ape below the Opensea floor more importantly you can negotiate some traits with the ape since you are paying ETH. This happens often to try and combat bots. If you are feeling impatient feel free to just nab one from the floor but it will cost you a little more. WETH offer is another strategy. Just try to stay on or below budget don't FOMO if you can manage it.

Once you have the ape, you will want to open its loot box. The loot box opens every 7 days for 600 meth the higher the rank of your ape the faster the loot box opens. However for now you are just focused on opening not ranking. after a few weeks, you should have enough different traits to “outfit” your ape it might not look pretty but put the traits you have on it to increase its rank this will speed up your loot box cooldown.

Keep in mind you need 4 apes total N-E-S-W guilds 2 male and 2 female. Add apes to your collection as your budget allows and follow the loot box strategy. You will not need all 4 apes until later in the game.

Hopefully, when hunting apes you were able to find deals and stash some of the needed traits? Work this strategy until you have acquired your 4 apes and 4 of each phase 1 quest traits.

OG Time

Sometime before phase 3 opens you will need your two OG bulls. They need to be of the same guild and they need to have breeds on them. Breeds are like a trait, they allow the NFT to be interacted with to unlock a new NFT. At the time of this writing, we are still unsure what the new NFT will be but have been instructed that the mechanic will be the same as in season 1. Two OG bulls of the same guild with breed available + 600 meth = NFT.

A few notes to understand;

1⃣There is a bot in Discord that allows you to check the breeds and meth available on an OG bull before you buy it. I don't want to state the obvious here but bulls with meth on them are preferred over ones without meth.

2⃣ If the bull you want has no breeds you can replenish them using a replenish NFT. Replenish NFTs can be purchased on Opensea for ETH or traded for in Discord.
These are also insanely underpriced right now 🧠

3⃣You will want to have extra replenishment cards because each OG can only hold 3 breeds at a time. You bought extra meth to potentially farm here in phase 3.

4⃣In season one, there were SEVERAL high-value NFTs being created and hunted by BAP collectors. Keep in mind as a new player you can use these as trading power to potentially help offset the cost of adding the other pieces you need like the orbs and meth machines.

Note: There are several activities that cost 0 ETH in the community that can help you build your bag. Participate in as many of them as possible and make as many connections as possible, this game is challenging and costly, building a team of allies is super important for staying up to date on strategy and having an easy place to make trades.

In summary

if you have followed my lead here and completed your God Ape Quest you are sitting on B.A.P assets that should be worth more than you originally paid for them, produce assets regularly like $METH, breeding NFT's, and loot boxes, allowed you to make some awesome connections and potentially capitalize on opportunities like investing in Space X.

Last but not least you will have this God Ape that not only looks insane but has some kind of value on its own. Remember the GodBulls from season 1 are trading regularly at the bottom around 2.4 Eth. YES, it requires work, but nothing good in life is free.
