#Space, the final frontier.
This account is devoted to show you rare wonders of space you've never seen before. We support #science! #Stars#Galaxy#astronomy
Stunning!✨
This nebula, captured by @NASAHubble is the perfect laboratory to study the origin of massive stars. It comes from more than 160K light-years away in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a neighboring galaxy that orbits our galaxy, the Milky Way. More: https://t.co/lCNphtFs7S
We remember #Apollo15 Astronaut Al Worden, who passed away today at the age of 88. Worden served as the command module pilot for Apollo 15 and was the first person to complete a spacewalk in deep space. https://t.co/TkFuMI4D7Q
Gravity's Grin! (Cheshire Cat galaxy group)
Einstein's general theory of relativity predicted the phenomenon of gravitational lensing.
And that's what gives these distant galaxies such a whimsical appearance!

These bright rims and flowing shapes look ghostly on a cosmic scale!
A telescopic view toward the constellation #Cassiopeia, the colorful skyscape features swept-back, comet-shaped clouds IC 59 (left) and IC 63!

Jewels don't shine as bright as stars do!
Like gems in a jewel box, though, the stars of open cluster NGC 290 glitter in a beautiful display of brightness and color!

@NASAspitzer How did @NASAspitzer unveil the universe? It studied the cosmos in infrared light as one of @NASA's Great Observatories. Looking in infrared allows us see distant galaxies and peer through dust to reveal baby stars, planets & so much more.

The horse-head feature is an opaque dust cloud that lies in front of the bright red emission nebula!
Like clouds in Earth's atmosphere, this cosmic cloud has assumed a recognizable shape by chance!

The rings of MyCn 18 trace the outline of an hourglass, although one with an unusual eye in its center.
Either way, the sands of time are running out for the central star of this hourglass-shaped planetary nebula!

Close up of the Orion Nebula. Visible to the unaided eye, M42 is one of the closest molecular clouds to our planet.

#Today Chandra is studying a #radio source in Vulpecula, the fox! Nearby in the sky is a bipolar planetary nebula known as Hen 2-437. Material ejected by a dying star is streaming outward in #space, generating the two elegant lobes seen in this image.
The center of our #MilkyWay#galaxy can be found toward the constellation #Sagittarius.
Even on a dark night, you can't really see it, your sight-line is quickly obscured by intervening interstellar dust.
