I remember during the peak of the reality show craze, trying to convince Boomers that Pawn Stars was staged.
They really believed that every day someone would walk into Gold and Sliver Pawn looking to sell President Truman’s foreskin, while the pawn broker had a foreskin guy on speed dial.
That was the idea when platforms became their own storefronts. They just want you to start playing the minute of release in the comfort of your own home, rather than wait.
There was a time when midnight launches, game boxes and a shelf full of discs were part of being a gamer.
Now we’re potentially looking at GTA 6 launching without a physical disc.
