Star Fox 64 is a good game but the gaming landscape has moved towards one and done experiences rather than games meant to be constantly replayed with only a handful being able to keep players coming back (Sonic and Resident Evil). Not sure remaking 64 will fix this tbh.
Baby shit

Most video game characters from Western devs have always been ugly. It's not even about 'attractiveness', their designs rarely stick with me. Japanese devs clear when it comes to character design, style, attractiveness, aura, and whatever else.
Trails in the Sky remakes both getting fucked over by incredibly stacked months is tragic. 1st had to compete with Silksong, Hades 2 and Silent Hill and now 2nd is competing with Sony's insanity September this year. A big shame, but it didn't seem to affect sales too bad for 1st
Starfox 64 is a pain in the ass to play on official hardware tbf, the remake is going to be the same price as a year of NSO Expansion Pack. I genuinely despise this model, we need Virtual Console back.
I really wanna know what the strategy is behind "Remake a game everyone can easily buy / play if they want to and is already in the possession of every fan in the franchise."
I refuse to believe this is how they think testing franchise viability works.
I guarantee that the majority of Shovel Knight fans couldn't beat an actual Famicom game without abusing save states. They have no respect for the 8bit era itself beyond aesthetics... Hence they like Shovel Knight: an easily digestible pasteurized bastardization.
You FUCKING shitheads put that guy with the ab implants back in my head and I actually can't function properly, that shit is like an A grade Cognito hazard DAMMIT
/v/ millennials when Origins came out said 50 dollars is too much for an inferior dated 2D game lacking in Content. zoomers are the opposite side of the coin, massive consoomers
bought it on Wii & pirated on PC for better graphics. not buying games twice! https://t.co/rsmMF7tfv7
That Gollum game and Balan Wonderworld are probably the only examples of truly horrendous games this decade. Honestly though, 6/10 slop is way worse. At least truly garbage games are funny.
The worst kids today see is a generic triple A “6/10” with nothing memorable about it
The worst we saw was unmitigated dog shit shovelware so horrible you question how it was shipped
Remakes are low risk low reward. The industry that spent the last decade chasing high risk high reward slop (live-service games) moving in this direction is good, but they should be moving towards either medium risk and reward (New IP) or low risk how reward models (sequels)
As cool as Retold is I don’t like this approach and I never will. If this game was gonna make money then a new game surely would’ve been just as successful. It’s not even like there ever was a demand for a remake of Legends so it doesn’t make much sense.
One of Nintendo's big franchises could probably do fine if it released in November but this is broadly correct. Something like an OOT remake is not going to do well if it has to compete with GTA.
I want to explain something to Nintendo fans that seem to live in some delusional mindset where they think Nintendo won't be impacted at all by GTA 6.
GTA 6 will be the biggest launch in entertainment history, period. Rockstar will be spending close to a billion dollars on marketing, you are going to see the game everywhere before release and even after release. It's going to be all over Tik Tok, streamers, youtubers and website publications will be covering it non stop, word of mouth will be all about GTA 6.
Now obviously Nintendo diehards will buy Nintendo games regardless of this but Nintendo isn't just thinking about them, they have to market to people outside twitter, reddit, gaming forums bubbles etc. Now you can't do that when a single game is dominating the conversation everywhere, this is the part that Nintendo fans fail to realise, this is why publishers would rather risk cannibalizing each other in September than going head to head with GTA 6.
Xmas is the most important time of the year for Nintendo and they will have to spend three times as much in marketing to even be close to piercing through the noise of GTA 6 especially in the U.S. their largest market. Nintendo will have to release something for the Xmas period no doubt and I am sure whatever it is it won't flop but they will definitely be impacted in some way by GTA 6 despite it not even being on the platform because at the end of the day attention is the fundamental currency of the entertainment industry.
Something to think about.
@juliamcardinals Ok but why stop Israel from getting the Iraqi Kurds involved? The strait had already been closed and the US doesnt have anything to lose. It seems to me the Vance wing convinced him that gas prices are more important than finishing the job and now we have the worst of both worlds
He does genuinely understand how the middle east works better than most which is why his lack of strategy for the Iran War is so baffling. Like, he knew that the regime needs to go but didn't have a plan to remove it and actively pushed back on Israeli plans to that effect. Why?
Love him or hate him, Trump has a way with words. He just said, "in that part of the world, ceasefire means you're shooting in a more moderate manner."
That's the best definition of a Middle Eastern ceasefire I've heard in my life!
