Hey! I'm Jason (aka Spanner/SpannerFox). I mostly lurk on Twitter but I post occasionally. I'm a Michigan furry from the thumb area, and I'm the owner of the Michigan furries discord server. Dms are open.

@HHidden96@Huscoon@ClimbViaBeaver Fursuiting is, at its core, performance. If you don't want to perform that's fine. This video is meant for people who do
@x_blqkc@AartDjr@sillyexbf Ending someone's machine because they moved the stuff that you left unattended once the machine ended is absolutely revenge.
Nobody is going to touch your stuff if you don't leave it in there. I never had a problem with it because I was always there as the machine finished.
@x_blqkc@AartDjr@sillyexbf Your whole ideology here is revenge. Never once have you considered that maybe you're wrong for leaving your stuff in a shared space. Don't block the front door with your car and expect it to not get towed.
@x_blqkc@sillyexbf What good is a note going to do? If you're there to read the note you'll also get your stuff. If you don't want to risk someone moving your stuff, don't leave it in there. You know how long the machine takes, so just set a timdr.
@x_blqkc@sillyexbf It's not weird, it's laundry room etiquette that everyone who has ever had to use a shared space has agreed on. If you don't take your stuff, expect it to get moved. People don't have the luxury to sit around all day and wait for your bullshit.
@x_blqkc@sillyexbf If you have an issue with people moving your stuff then go get your own machines. When I have to do laundry I am not waiting for your lazy ass to come collect your stuff that you left in the machine like some form of fucked up laundry daycare.
@x_blqkc@sillyexbf This is common in shared laundry spaces. When there's dozens of people waiting to use a machine, you do not leave your shit in it if you don't want someone to take it out. Why should I have to wait hours for you to get your stuff
@LuMollyos3@sillyexbf It's a shared laundry space with very limited machines. If you don't want the risk of someone moving your stuff, then set a timer and make sure you are there when the load is done. People shouldn't have to wait hours for you to come get your shit
@JournalistFact1 These are really inefficient because they take inside air they just cooled, run it over the hot condenser, and blow it outside. However it's a fairly inexpensive solution for someone in these situations where they rarely actually need ac
@Umpn4Life@Krissa_Kray_@salingergregor I literally live in the Midwest. This conversation is about the UK. where it's only warm enough for the AC to be used a few days a year.
And for what it's worth, we still just use a window unit because getting a dedicated unit is so expensive to install and maintain.
@Umpn4Life@Krissa_Kray_@salingergregor No, you don't. You don't need a dedicated permanent AC installation. Especially since you're only using it a few days a year
@biiiskarsgrds@BudvarCat@onslotton@justme172548 It being superior doesn't mean shit when it's going to get used less than 1 week a year. A less efficient unit will never consume so much power it outweighs the added cost of buying a more expensive unit, getting it installed, and all the bureaucracy that goes with it
@biiiskarsgrds@BudvarCat@onslotton@justme172548 Ok so this conversation is about the UK not having AC. It's great you can get a split system that cheap but it doesn't really pertain to the conversation when it doesn't match their needs at a reasonable price
@FriccenFriend@mirrenelle Because at least in the states, that install is about 10,000USD. A cheap window or portable unit is all that's needed for the few times a year it's particularly warm and can be bought for a couple hundred
