Day 4 of the 30 in 30 #NFLDraft scouting reports brings us back to the QB position, and this time, we’re talking a true ALIEN at the position.
LaNorris Sellers may have been written off by some, but not me. Tap in below (or the link in my bio) to see how I feel about the SEC signal caller:
Right now, top of market WRs are getting between $35 mil APY (Drake London/JJettas) and $42 mil APY (JSN, JaMarr Chase is at $40 mil)
I’d bet we see another 10-12% increase on that over the next 4, so top of market probably becomes $38 mil to $46 mil APY.
But if the cap increases by an average of 5% year over year, those deals look better by locking in early
Just saying, this is an overpay for me. I wouldn’t have passed $23-$24 mil APY, and even that would’ve been top of market for him. I’d rather have settled in the $21 mil APY range.
But Packers get their guy long term
ESPN sources: Green Bay WR Christian Watson and the Packers reached agreement today on a four-year, $110.5 million contract extension that includes a $31 million signing bonus.

Mensah isn’t my boy, he’s got a third round grade for me.
And fwiw, hes from Florence, South Carolina. Hometown hero, wants to make the school he grew up watching great. I applaud the fact he hasn’t transferred, he wants to get it out of the basement and back towards the top of the SEC.
A new playcaller in Kendall Briles, who’s done some good work with spread/RPO based concepts, another year with Nyck Harbor at WR, and a new LT (when healthy) in Jacarrius Peak should make life much easier for him this year.

The Steelers and tight end Darnell Washington have reached agreement on a four-year, $42M extension, per sources.
The deal includes $21M guaranteed.
Steelers and agent @PerrettM at @PrioritySports reached deal tonight.
And the hilarious part? This trade literally can’t happen.
With the protections on the Myles Garrett pick (conditional 3rd in 2029 that could jump to a first if MG is traded to an AFCN team) that 2029 pick isn’t dealable.
So now, you’re saying a 28 r1, a 30 r1, and Simpson for Burrow, which I’m sure that Cincy would hang up before you finish that sentence
There is a mechanic for it, and it stems from one key component:
The fact that he was at Texas and shared an account with his brother in law, who was making bets on his behalf.
That’s proxy betting, by definition, and is punishable in Ohio via a misdemeanor, Indiana via financial penalties, and Texas via a misdemeanor as well.
And that would leave him subject to the PCP. Goodell isn’t going to let a player who bet on his own team in college walk into the league with no punishment, especially for gambling.
Not to mention, if he was valued as such, he would’ve declared this past season. He’s not going to fetch more than a 3/4 imo
@stpalme1@Jordan_Reid Anto Saka at Texas A&M
Quincy Rhodes at Arkansas
Jordan Ross at LSU
Those would be my next three edge rushers on my board, and each one of them has a claim for edge3
Still working my way through each position group for the 2027 draft. Heading into the season, the best non-QB position groups appear to RB, WR, IDL, and DB.
