I'm sadly hearing reports from some smaller cities where protesters outnumbered those who showed up to support the LGBTQ community.
To the LGBTQ youth in those cities: you matter. I'm so sorry your cities failed you.
So many have your back, even if you didn't see it today. ❤️🩹
Today CUPE Ontario made our values clear and unmistakable as we stood shoulder to shoulder with countless others, facing hate and bigotry head on at the No Space for Hate Rally today in support of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities 🏳️🌈✊🏾📢 We had the pleasure of hearing from folks such as CUPE Ontario's own Susan Gapka, CUPE 4948 President, Brandon Haynes, Cheri DiNovo, OFL Executive Vice-President candidate, Jackie Taylor, and more!
We were there to counter protests against the teaching of 2SLGBTQIA+ content in schools and demonstrate unequivocally that there is no place for hate within our society. We shall continue to stand together, resolute in our commitment to combat lies and misinformation while championing love, care, and respect.
Most of the lobbying by prominent housing developers that led to thousands of acres being removed from the Greenbelt and billions of dollars added to the value of their lands does not appear anywhere in Ontario’s lobbyist registry. https://t.co/8h7x8kEDBd
The National Hurricane Center is providing hourly position and intensity updates on Hurricane #Idalia. The 12:00 am EDT update is available at https://t.co/UGGxqA1OOg. Idalia is forecast to become a major hurricane early this morning.
@Nicoletta0602@DRD_Tim@duolingo Ah yes, it's definitely the LGBTQ2+ community that you need to be protecting kids from 😑
While you spend all of your time on your silly little culture war, you allow the real predators to do actual harm. You ought to be ashamed, especially as a Rhode Islander.

I have an enormous amount of feelings over how non-Natives acted at the Na-Me-Res pow wow today. It was incredibly disheartening and upsetting in so many ways. I don't have the bandwidth to explain it all right now, but I'm going to come back to this. It's not okay at all.
Was it tolerance that drove into a Muslim family, going for an evening walk? Or targeted women with a truck on Yonge Street? Or shot up a mosque? Or drew swastikas on countless synagogues? Or dumped hundreds of indigenous children into unmarked graves? This smugness is grotesque.
Reading the news today, I'm feeling very fortunate to live in Canada - a diverse and tolerant country that values freedom while respecting human rights. We aren't perfect and building our country is an ongoing project but I wouldn't choose anywhere else. ❤️🇨🇦
We honour the memory of all Indigenous women, girls, two-spirit, men, and boys today and everyday. Together we can strengthen our community to heal. Together we can change the story of #MMIWG.
If you think to yourself "I think I'll attack a soup kitchen today" in the name of "freedom", on one of the coldest days of the year, you're an asshole. These people are national embarrassments & I look forward to seeing charges laid. Donations via: https://t.co/PUbslKRP4Q
Friends, it's been a difficult 24 hours. Staff harassed for meals. A service user and security guard assaulted. Through it all, you have donated and filled our hearts with gratitude. Every cent will support people experiencing homelessness. Thank you. See our statement ⬇️
💧Effective December 14, 2021 at 4:00 PM, Chippewas of the Thames First Nation is under a Boil Water Advisory. This also applies to the residents of Munsee-Delaware Nation. The community water is NOT safe to drink - you MUST boil the water from your water supply before using it.
@kdmac68@verity_blue You demanded that we, the survivors of this system, get out of the way. You barely have to look up if you aren't sure what I am referring to. It must be nice to be so blinded by privilege that you can't see how wrong and offensive you're being.
@kdmac68@TheAgentNDN@ArnallLabrador First, this country as a whole isn't mourning the deaths of these children. Second, many non-Indigenous Canadians just aren't listening or simply don't care. Threatening to further ignore us, at this moment especially, shows that these killings haven't taught you a fucking thing.
Chippewas of the Thames First Nation will be going orange to honour the lives and spirits of the 215 children who were students at the Kamloops Residential School, whose bodies were recently discovered on the property in an unmarked mass grave.
