For me the best part Glasgow's Pride march was walking behind two incredibly butch Glaswegian lesbians who spent it by shouting "look at my gorgeous trans son" pointing to a young trans man marching topless in a kilt.
Twitter discourse just doesn't match up with reality does it?
Why can't I find a doctor who will prescribe "sea air" for my nerves so I can spend a summer in a picturesque costal town in England "for my health" only to be caught up in a local scandal and forced to solve a murder???
In 2019, Caster Semenya was told she could no longer participate in sport unless she took hormone suppressants.
As a doctor, I find this unacceptable.
Medicine is prescribed for the benefit of the patient's health - not because a sports committee dictates it.
Genetic advantages are seen throughout the sporting world.
🏊♂️Michael Phelps has a super large wingspan and lung capacity.
🤸♀️Simone Biles is only 4ft8, allowing her to retain skills she's had since childhood (while other gymnasts have to re-learn new techniques as they grow.)
🏀Boban Marjanovic has the largest hands in the NBA, and is so tall he can dunk without jumping.
Do we ask any of these athletes to retire?
Do we ask them to undergo surgery to reduce their size?
Do we ask them to take growth hormones, or drugs that alter their abilities?
Absolutely not.
The truth is, because testosterone is linked to gender identity, it has once again been forced into the spotlight by the press.
While I'm relieved on the European Court's decision Semenya's rights were violated, it's a disgrace it even happened in the first place. Hopefully this can be an educational moment for everyone.
1 in 5 women have high testosterone levels.
And genetic advantages are seen in all corners of the sporting world.
Can we all start celebrating these incredible human beings, instead of trying to cut them out?
@DracenjaDreamer "But somehow this", da müsste die Reihenfolge einmal getauscht werden. Aber frag mich nicht warum, ich kann english nur durch sprechen gelernt und in der Schule nie aufgepasst lol
David Tennant taking a press day as an opportunity to wear his “stick up for trans kids and dunk on transphobes” shirt is the most attractive thing a man has ever done
Once again, the statement "You can make up literally anything at all about trans people and the British Media will uncritically report it" is in no way an exaggeration.
Honestly surprised that the Daily Mail haven't covered the Down With Cis Bus story yet.
This is the grave of Betty Corrigall in Hoy,where she lived in the 1770s. Aged 27 she was unmarried and got pregnant. The father abandoned her & fled to sea. She committed suicide. She was refused a cemetery burial & was buried, unmarked,in the peat hills. /1
