@DZBillFulton If schools aren't going to require basic personal accounting/financial literacy, it's up to parents to help prepare their kids for financial realities. I wish I had taken personal finances more seriously as a teen/young adult.
First they came for the Palestinians And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Palestinian
Then they came for the activists
But I did not speak out
Because I was not an activist
Then they came for the students
But I did not speak out
Because I was not a student
Then they came for me And there was no one left To speak out for me
There is no other way to say this: the (lack of) reaction to the scenes of sheer carnage, burned refugee bodies, and decapitated babies coming out of Rafah tonight from the U.S. political and media establishments is nothing other than the normalizing, the banalizing, of genocide.
@MacFarlaneNews Subpoena him if he refuses to show up. There need to be consequences for this if they are going to spit in the face of what few (non-binding) ethics rules Roberts meekly spat up in 2023.
@typocatCA Yes, because grammar components and a recognition of heritage/ancestry are problems for a state administration to spend time and money focusing on. Love it when "small-government" conservatives tell people what they can and can't say. Universities should sue under 1A grounds.
@PastorBenMarsh I had two interviews from my last round of applications I sent out. No official offers yet, but I'm hopeful.
My dad's also coming in to see the Indy 500 with me.
"On May 19, 2024, Russian Iskander missiles struck a recreational base twice in the village of Cherkasska Lozova, Kharkiv region. It was a Sunday, and ordinary people were at the base. 28 people were injured, 7 were killed. Among them was a young woman 7 months pregnant, Anzhela Taran.
We met her family at the cemetery the day after the burial. They wanted to talk to us, gave permission to film and publish these photos: they want everyone to know about their grief. They want the world to see that every number in this war is real faces, not statistics.
Anzhelika was only 25. That day she went to a recreation center in Cherkasska Lozova, which is a few kilometers from Kharkiv. There were never any military or military equipment there. This place was a favorite vacation spot for locals. First there was one explosion, a little later - another. These people had almost no chance.
In the Ukrainian language and perhaps in all languages of the world, there is no word to convey what it is: to lose your daughter and unborn grandchild in one day. This is not a tragedy, it is much more. Russia has destroyed the lives of these people. Is it possible to come to terms, is it possible to move on when one sunny spring day you lose everything?
This happened on May 19. Yesterday, 4 days later - another mass murder. Daily explosions, daily alarms, daily wounded. The world is watching. As if it supports, as if it approves something, as if new planes are coming soon, almost every day - optimistic loud statements are made. But no one will bring back this young girl and her unborn child. As well as the other 6 people killed that day. As well as the 7 killed yesterday. As well as dozens of deaths at the front every day, although yesterday they were also ordinary civilians, boys and girls who took up arms because there is no other way out. Otherwise, their home will turn into Mariupol, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Marinka, Orihiv, Gulyaipole, Vovchansk, you can continue endlessly.
The world is watching. Will it withstand the gaze of people who have lost everything?"
Ukrainian photographers and journalists couple @Liberov posted on their Instagram.
@KeneAkers I wish history, especially in middle/high school, was more frank and honest about the history of marginalized people. We are supposed to be a land of opportunity for all. Ignoring how the country failed to deliver or outright rejected that ideal doesn't make us better.
Kharkiv.
The sound you hear from inside the black bag is an incoming call that will never be answered because additional Patriots were not delivered to Ukraine on time.
Deliver them now. I urge everyone who can influence leaders of their countries to make their calls today.
The toxic chemicals from this "clean up" are being pumped into the ground in Coshocton County at an injection well site.
Injection wells have been leaking all over Ohio into our ground water.
