Keep going with patience and community power, eventually the utility side will explode!

Pi Network Testnet 25 details

Testnet 25 officially went live on January 7, 2026, at 21:00 UTC. This is one of the most critical testing phases of Pi Network's Open Mainnet era and a major upgrade providing full synchronization with Stellar Protocol 25.

Main Purpose and Features

The main goal of Testnet 25 is: To complete stability, performance, and security tests of Protocol v23 (including Rust-based smart contract support).

To test DeFi features such as DEX (decentralized exchange), AMM Liquidity Pools, and token minting/creation in a realistic environment. To verify the network's hyperscalability, transaction speed, low error rate, and overall reliability.

To perform final checks before the transition to Mainnet – especially Rust smart contracts and Stellar Core v23/25 integration.

Progress so far (from community and news sources): 15–25 successful transactions recorded with Protocol v23 in Testnet 1, with almost zero error rate → Showing very high stability.

Preparations for the v23 transition to Testnet 2 are underway → This is a key step towards making the Mainnet DEX ready.

👉Critical Dates (January 2026)

January 7, 2026: Testnet 25 went live (Stellar Protocol 25 synchronization completed).

January 15, 2026 (deadline mentioned in some sources): End of test voting or final checks.

January 22, 2026, 17:00 UTC: Community Mainnet Vote → This vote will decide whether Protocol v23 and related upgrades will be implemented on the mainnet. This vote will be decisive for Pi's DeFi and utility explosion in 2026!

Late January (approximately January 28): 134 million PI tokens are expected to be unlocked → This could create increased liquidity and market movement.

Technical Notes

Pi, being Stellar-based, synchronizes with Stellar Protocol 25 (also known as "Stellar X-Ray"): bringing improved security, privacy, transaction speed, and scalability.

Rust-based smart contracts (with Protocol v23): providing developers with a powerful infrastructure for dApps. Currently, 95+ test tokens are live, with hyperscaling and DeFi scenarios being tested.
