Destiny 2 was not a failure.
Destiny is—was—by all measures, one of the most resounding successes in its field, and its end is a consequence of its management, not the game itself, nor the team and community that propped it up time and time again, or the vision that fueled it.
Destiny was a pioneer of the live-service formula. It was one of the earliest games of the 2010s to try to deliver constant goods, whether they took the form of missions, new loot rewards, or skins, to a console audience.

@killerbeanXDD I feel ya I just looked at my last 4 tiles yesterday thinking I might be good to stop here. Honestly probably burnt myself out but with 17 days left maybe I’ll end up finishing.
@MissVioletShade I mean the option is still there for Contest. Maybe people would rather go in blind to try and puzzle solve themselves without the extra combat difficulty. Or just want to get it done on launch weekend when they might have time off already.
Ngl been loving Division 2s version of the grind better than Destiny 2 at the moment. The library and targeted loot just feels like it’s more respectful of player time.
