@residentdoctors@MedCouncilCan should demonstrate evidence that the MCCQE-II positively impacts physician/resident training. With the Canada-wide switch to #CBME, why are cash-strapped residents forced to throw money at something with no evidence? @ontariosdoctors@CMA_Docs
@ResidentDoctors Asking us about our experiences with MCCQEII and COVID... Why are we still talking about this in 2020? At $2,780, the exam represents 5.5% of our annual after-tax income... why are we still participating in the @MedCouncilCan cashgrab? @OntariosDoctors@CMA_Docs
@MedCouncilCan Even if there’s one COVID positive resident or examiner, this could take out a significant chunk of the resident workforce in a province.
Were there any physicians involved with making this decision or all these career administrators who understand nothing about public health?
On my first day of residency I forgot a patient was on a drop that we wanted to stop (until after reviewing and sending them home). So I had to admit this to the senior and call the patient to tell them. Mistakes happen! Important to recognize and be honest
Please re-evaluate what you’re doing @PrometricGlobal & @MedCouncilCan, you’re contributing to an unhealthy resident physician workforce and no one should be forced to take an exam under these conditions. Better yet, in an era with RC & CFPC why is this exam needed at all? 4/4
If I told a patient they had a 1 in 6 chance (16%) of experiencing significant issues (>/=2 restarts) with a treatment (#MCCQE1), I don’t think they’d be reassured by me saying it’s “not a frequent issue”
@PrometricGlobal@MedCouncilCan 2/
@DocMCohen@MedCouncilCan@MedCouncilCan seems determined to do absolutely nothing to help candidates in any way. It’s been almost 3 months since we’ve had any information about the MCCQE2 scheduling. Plenty of candidates had their MCCQE1 test malfunction and now have to rewrite the entire thing.
@stefan_d_jevtic@MedCouncilCan It’s like the people making these decisions did not themselves start their lives in someone’s uterus. That someone needs 100% FULL SUPPORT during pregnancy, post-partum and for lactation.
A medical colleague was denied food/water accommodations for her licensing exam at 9 weeks pregnant because the request had to be “at least 9 weeks in advance” .. before she was pregnant
Appalled by this blatant discrimination in medicine 😡 @MedCouncilCan
This is a completely unacceptable way to treat a human being. I’ve heard so many horrifying stories of racism, and incompetence from @MedCouncilCan We’re paying $1500 - $3000 to be discriminated and denied basic human rights.
