Eli is fearful and skittish in the shelter. He has displayed trembling, a tucked tail, lowered head, flinching, and avoidance. On 10/21, he growled when staff attempted to leash him. He has also thrashed when frightened by leash pressure.

However, with gentle baby talk and patient handling, Eli has made progress! He has approached staff voluntarily, followed them outside, walked close beside his handler, and remained quiet in the outdoor run. He quickly pottied outside and returned to his kennel without major difficulty.

• Last Seen Location: Walking out of Looe Bay Holiday Park towards Tregoad on the B3253 St Martin road in Cornwall.

• Description: White male, 5ft 8in tall, slim build, short dark hair, restricted mobility, and frequently wears a flat cap.

Slums do serve a function so long as they're cheap. Sometimes all you need is a roof over your head with a lockable door. A bottle of bleach will take care of the worst problems. I attempted to rent a similar dump in Birmingham to do a lucrative short notice MoD contract - for the sole reason it was £450pcm, bills inclusive. You live rough and bank the cash.

Now, though, that's not an option because even worse slums than this cost £1k or more, and the scumbag estate agents want a huge deposit, rent up front, references, and a credit check for something you wouldn't leave your dog unattended in. That leaves you renting spare rooms with total strangers (who can turn out to be psychopaths). In the space of about ten years, it's become next to impossible to find passable accommodation for a single person on even a decent wage. The whole system is a predatory rip off - made a magnitude worse by mass immigration.

UK Treasury confirms extra £20bn over five years for the so-called National Wealth Fund (£15bn) and the state-owned British Business Bank (£5bn), which lends to business.
