Bill Hinsch, a resident of Perrysburg, is painting the 9' by 12' work, which will be placed across from the Statehouse's Wright Brothers painting. Other works he made are shown at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Dayton and the Pentagon.

A rendering of the “Ohioans in Space” painting was unveiled Wednesday, depicting astronauts John Glenn, Neil Armstrong, Jim Lovell and Judith Resnik as well as Flight Director Gene Kranz. The final painting is slated for placement at the Statehouse in January 2024.
