But the touch was so slight it made no difference to the direction of the ball therefore gained Croatia no advantage. If a touch is only detectable in that way it’s not changing anything and so should not count. I mean in quantum terms all particles are everywhere so maybe everyone is always touching the ball…
Guilty of taking this man for granted , captaining a fine group of players . One of the great minds i'd suggest & would love to see him involved again .
Completely fascinated by how Emily Maitlis has become the new Nigel Farage/Andrew Bailey – AI rendered public figure caught in “shocking” moment.
Mostly because this looks nothing like Emily Maitlis.
With the renewed political enthusiasm for nationalisation, what, in practical terms, does it mean and what would actually change? How might "Manchesterism" apply in practice?

Deschamps has brashly taken all of his best players and fashioned them into the most lethal attacking unit in world football, sure.
But do they have the squad balance, leadership and cohesion provided by the likes of Dan Burn, Jordan Henderson and Anthony Gordon? I think not.
A terrific bonus episode for @TheRestHistory Club members today - a deep dive into ARGENTINA 1978, the most controversial World Cup in history.

I think it is reasonable to argue that some of the funding trade-offs should be left to a new PM/ChX given it will be they who presides over the political fallout. Not necessarily a deliberate black hole from Starmer/Reeves. Intriguing however that they were both so adamant/negative about defence bonds as there was space in the fiscal rules (on the Spring 2026 non-assessed assessment) to do bridge the gap through additional borrowing. And that would have been the politically easiest route through in the Autumn. Harder to take that path now.
The first of the group of Saudi supertankers (⤵️) has now exited the Strait of Hormuz and is now in the Gulf of Oman (on her way to Japan). The Zaynah VLCC exited Sun-Mon in dark mode. Another laden tanker has gone dark, and two other remain visible at the Saudi oil port.
Obama:
It is possible for me to be a great admirer of George Washington and also acknowledge he was a slaveholder. And that does not negate his greatness.
That simply acknowledges that there is a profound, deep flaw in these Founding Fathers, who were also geniuses and gave us these tools.
Which is true of all of us, right? It's true of every president. We're this mixed bag.
We've got contradictions and embody the country's contradictions.

Dame #PenelopeKeith was a regular passenger on SWR Portsmouth Line. Whenever I was the Driver of the service she always spoke as I got into the cab at Waterloo & when when she got off at her station she would always knock the window & say: ‘thank you Driver’. A lovely lady. RIP
I sincerely hope I'm wrong here but as far as I can see England vs DR Congo on Wednesday at 5pm is on BBCiPlayer.
The two main channels are showing Wimbledon.
It's not ITV's turn to show England.
Surely they must alter the schedules.
If not it is scandalous.
