I find it interesting that some will claim that renewables increase electricity prices, but that doesn't seem to jive with the data.
Top wind power states in US: Texas, Iowa, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Illinois

Top solar power states in US: California, Texas, Florida, and North Carolina
https://t.co/4TyO9Cjz1U
Average electric rate in US is 15.83 cents/kWh
https://t.co/01QSnFaSUZ
Of these 8 states the 6 Republican states are lower than US average: Florida 13.44, Iowa 14.45, Kansas 13.36, North Carolina 12.30, Oklahoma 12.15, Texas 12.27.
While the 2 Democratic states have a higher rate: California 30.45, Illinois 16.02
This suggests political factors are the source of high prices rather than renewables.
@RudyRud420@TechOperator This video from Southwestern Electric Power Company includes a bit about the grid more than doubled capacity in a decade to meet demand when air conditioning began to be adopted in homes in the 50s.
Can the electric grid handle electric vehicles?

It's not just BBQ and TexMex - Food & Wine's top US cities for food and drink ranks Houston as #6:
"It boasts the most ethnically diverse population of any large city in the country. That multiculturalism seasons the city’s dining scene, offering exceptional Tex-Mex/Mexican, Indian, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Southern/Cajun cuisines alongside classic Texas barbecue."

@RepEscobar ICYMI: The National Mall and Memorial Parks are part of the National Park Service.
Are you really this ignorant, or are you really this deceitful?🤔

@GreenTexanEV Went EV only in 2018, now on my 2nd EV. Only thing I miss from my last gas car is the drop top.
I regularly take cross-country road trips and never found range to be an issue - both of my Model 3s have more range than my S2000 did 🤯

Back in 2022 we were in the Wisconsin Dells and had some awesome @1919rootbeer at one of the restaurants. We brought a Pony Keg of it at the Museum of Root Beer to bring back to Texas.
Was pleasantly surprised today when I discovered @HEB now has it in Pony Cans 😋
@RepMikeLevin The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is part of the National Park Service.
Are you really that ignorant, or are you really that deceitful🤔

@TechOperator@LifeLessonsAcad Yep, doubtful I'd have bought an EV as early as I did if standard outlets were not supported.
I couldn't have made this 2018 trip to Fort Benning for my nephew's Basic Training graduation as charging options were very limited. And at the time I was using a 5-15 outlet at home.
@FlGeorgeins@ChrisMartzWX Yes the Republican party was founded to oppose slavery, which is why I was so surprised in 2023 to learn while at the Lincoln Memorial that Lincoln had written:
"If I could save the Union without freeing any slave, I would do it"
which supports what Chris wrote about Lincoln
In 2023 I was at the Lincoln Memorial and took the attached photos of an excerpt of Lincoln's letter to Horace Greeley. I was surprised I didn't already know about it, presumably it was suppressed in history class.
I would save the Union.
My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and it is not to save or destroy slavery
If I could save the Union without freeing any slave, I would do it;
and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves
I would do it;
and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone, I would also do that.

Sold my Honda S2000 in July 2018 - it felt broken, extra loud and laggy performance, after spending 5+ weeks with a Tesla:

@PTPetra Nice! Back on the 7th, after having my Model 3 for 5+ weeks, I sold off my S2000. As I drove it around to get quotes, I was shocked at its lack of performance vs the 3. I also thought something was wrong at first due to the engine noise being much louder than I remembered.
