On this POW/MIA Recognition Day, we pause to remember the brave servicemembers who were taken as prisoners of war and those who remain missing in action.
My thoughts are with the families still waiting for answers. They are not - and never will be - forgotten.
Trump's war in Iran has cost Americans $38 billion.
With that money, we could've funded more than 3 years of Head Start.
We could've paid for almost 5 million people to get a two year degree at a community college.
That's enough to forgive student loan debt for nearly a million borrowers.
We could've built over 73,000 affordable housing units across the country.
There's so many other things we could've funded to improve your life, but the Trump administration started this reckless war.
Republicans kicked millions off their healthcare and food assistance programs with their One Big Beautiful Bill.
But another less talked about provision? Massive corporate tax breaks that AI and data center companies are eagerly taking advantage of.

NEW: The National Weather Service, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, will be required to refer to "Lake America" in all forecast products.
The agency, which falls under the Department of Commerce, is bound by Executive Order 14422.
As such, the Weather Service now needs to adjust its software, and mapping interfaces, to modify Lake Ontario's moniker to Lake America for at least the next 861 days.
The National Weather Service states that "work is underway to update naming conventions as quickly as possible."
Our nation has begged its government to do the right thing and release every document in the Epstein Files. The President's DOJ has withheld more than 3 million pages.
I joined the discharge petition for the Epstein Files Transparency Act II to force a vote on allowing state attorneys general, victims of Epstein, and Members of Congress to challenge the DOJ on its failure to comply with the full release of the files. Survivors deserve nothing less.
@waynehhsiung Protecting animals is a passion of mine I've been pursuing throughout my time in Congress. I first introduced this particular bill back in 2023.
I'll always welcome whatever support I can get, both from my Democratic colleagues and across the aisle.
The Pigs in Gestation Stalls (PIGS) Act would permanently ban the use of gestation stalls, used to house pregnant pigs, and would require the pigs to have no less than 24 square feet of space.
Meaning pregnant pigs to lie down, stand up, and move about freely; they deserve no less.
Pigs are sentient beings that feel pain and suffering. They are sensitive, gentle, and smart creatures that are treated with incredible cruelty before they are sent to be slaughtered.
I have a bill to ban these use of these crates. Tell your member of Congress to sign on.
Imagine living like this for FIVE YEARS. Your entire life. This is what mother pigs endure in factory farms across the globe.
My wife @rose__patterson and her org @AnimalRising released this footage at a supposedly high welfare farm today. This has to stop.
I will continue to work diligently through the Appropriations Committee to advance long-term funding bills that prioritize our community and avoid the culture war provisions my Republican colleagues continue to obsess about.
Today, I voted in favor of the Senate legislation to fund our government, protect vulnerable populations, continue funding vital programs, and avoid yet another Republican shutdown.
This is a bipartisan CR that funds our government through mid-December; this is what happens when the Republican majority works with Democrats — agreement is indeed possible.
@kjones3298@BetoORourke Hi Kelly. Team Escobar here. The Congresswoman has page on her website dedicated to all she's done on data centers: https://t.co/elWE5nY6lt
SCOOP: Trump officials are pressuring the National Park Service to find a way to give a small piece of Yosemite to a private developer.
The land would be used for a road, to give the developer rare private access to the heart of the park.

My heart breaks for Cristy, her children and Hedar who must feel so betrayed by the country he is sacrificing for.
There are far too many families like theirs who are being targeted instead of supported.
Prior to Trump's second administration, ICE would typically allow immediate family members of U.S. troops to adjust their legal status even if they had been issued a final order of removal.
