Local media just appear unable to cover drugs in a humane and person centered way and help create the conditions that lead to these kind of attacks @ChronOnline really needs to practice responsible journalism
https://t.co/03kz03forL. The perfect austerity drug ....
“I was in the Yorkshire town of Doncaster – though it could have been any number of places where the street drug known as spice has entered the lives of people living on society’s edges, sowing anxiety and fear.... “
@collect_voice Remember when @AddactionUK instructed staff they must not talk about Naloxone as they ‘ were not a campaigning organisation’... shocking
@AlisonHernandez@TransformDrugs Because moving it from legal to class B has been so successful ? Spice is a drug that has come to prominence partly as a result of prohibition. @ACCOX_artist@SimonGreasley Mamba/spice seems to differ from alcohol, cocaine, heroin in being very short acting, leaving little time for keeping appointments. In acute overdose, often appears like stimulant OD (cardiac effects, sudden death).. and in withdrawal, more like GHB or alcohol (fits, paranoia).
@syptweet are in difficult position with spice due to public and local authority pressure but are large numbers of arrests and searches solution ? Criminal justice led approaches might keep public happy but unlikely to deliver real solutions ....

@andyinhaler @phillips_jacks So refreshing to see this. A commissioner and services that have the guts to address stigma rather than the usual focus on only ‘ celebrating recovery ‘
