@matt_grenier I believe if the dnd set wasn't just a baldur's gate 3 tie-in (forgotten realms) but also included stuff from eberron/planescape/dark sun/spelljammer, it would feel more like FF. Not quite magic, but very close
The hate for UB is quite obviously a reasonable reaction to feeling like the consumerism in your hobby has been foregrounded, but the way it has led massive swaths of players to gaslight themselves into believing they truly care about Magic's story is really funny.
@bocchiyuri Sure, but if I tell a new player that my favorite d2 story is uldren and crow's journey, how do they experience that in game? D1 was like other mmos, content droughts between expansions was normal. The dcv (including seasons) is d2's legacy, over half the game is unplayable
@dankkepng Seasons get deleted, so for final shape they can't bring anything forward or it might confuse the yearly campaign players. Same reason why they retconned zavala's character development from season of the haunted
@SaffronOlive It's fine that the silver-bordered creature types stay off of real magic cards. The mythics wotc design to push packs don't have to match the theme of the set (badgermole cub), and magic sets also have this problem, otj didn't make an outlaw or crime deck for example
@NuCaloric 1000%. My favorite warlock fashion came from the dawn chorus ornament that forced me to play a weekend of trials just to get matching armor. I kept that look until I unistalled
@AlexisSylvain7@RhemRasheed@wzrdnx It's still stupid to consider it UB just because the game designers didn't rename things like with eldraine or theros. UB is for ip and brand synergy, it requires contracts between rights holders. 1001 Nights is mythology that any game could copy
@mochimarohamu@Mangaminx That's the same nonsense US/EU music industries try to pull and it's always bullshit. Those numbers aren't provable since it's impossible to prove a pirated copy results in a loss of sale. If a pirate doesn't have access in the first place, then there was no loss to the company.
@CodeShooting@aipbaybee@jakeformayor It's probably because becoming unprepared isn't related to the resolution of the spell, like shuffling is for omens. If that text was on the recall box, you could just hold priority and cast as many recalls as you have blue mana
@Rav3n1_@Gnarfledarf@nrmtenjoyer Ttar could run mixed sets in gen4 too. Ice beam was popular as a counter to normal ttar checks like gliscor and breloom
