@bwfast@coop_dawg9 Virginia is missing the USL 2 Teams:
Charlottesville Blues FC - Charlottesville
Hill City FC - Lynchburg
Lionsbridge FC - Newport News,
Loudoun United FC 2 - Leesburg,
Northern Virginia FC (NoVA FC) -
Virginia Beach United - Virginia Beach,
Virginia Marauders FC - Winchester
@AtxCobia@matthewschmitz ECNL definitely still is for girls, and that’s leaving clubs to have hard decisions to make. Going to be an interesting 5 years or so to see who wins out. Hopefully more USL clubs will be successful in building academies as well.
@AtxCobia@matthewschmitz Eh, there are 212 D1 men’s soccer programs. SEC gave up soccer, but not ACC or schools like Indiana or Maryland. But it doenst matter. With the development of MLS academies, college is an alternative path, not a professional one.
Que en una Copa del Mundo se haya pitado un penalti como este, con toda la tecnología al servicio de los árbitros, es para plantearse muchas cosas.
Esto NO es penalti.
@KnowerOfBans Which is crazy to me. That loss was not on him. We won our group. Player of expansive attractive soccer….until we imploded for whatever reason
@hunterparker99@hmn_alchemy@M0kujin I agree the MLS model kinda screws this approach up - one of the kickers best prospects Nicholas Simmonds - went 3rd in the MLS Superdraft and then the kickers weren’t compensated (even though you could argue his ECNL team did more work in developing him than the kickers)
@hunterparker99@M0kujin@hmn_alchemy You can call it luck if you want, but they intentionally changed their model to focus on building home grown players. It’s led to less success on the field at the moment, but they are hoping to change that long term for a more sustainable business model.
Can you imagine a USA soccer where hundreds of clubs across all of the states have a chance to win promotion up to US soccer's division 1 through their play on the field?
USA World Cup fans would go crazy for this free & open format. March Madness.
Are you ready?

As some one who has lived in the UK and US for a long time in both and been involved in youth sport in both, here is my reflection on the problems in the US youth sport system:
@MKCasey12@_davidskerr This is the way. Growing up I played on a team that made state cup semifinals and we didn’t have practice kits, and our alternate jerseys were tshirts…400 for uniforms each season isn’t mandatory I don’t know why we all just accept it
