In the presence of @rafaelmgrossi & Federal Councillor Martin Pfister, the Spiez Laboratory was today redesignated as a Collaborating Centre of the @iaeaorg.
As such, the Laboratory will be able to share resources, knowledge and expertise with other members.
Congratulations to 🇨🇭 Switzerland’s @SpiezLab on its 100th anniversary: for more than a century, the Lab has advanced science in service of public protection, including important work in radiation protection and nuclear safety.
Joined the anniversary ceremony hosted by @SwissGov’s Martin Pfister, and had the honour of renewing its designation as an @IAEAorg Collaborating Centre, a role it has held since 2016.
Through its expertise, @SpiezLab supports the Agency with missions abroad and laboratory work, continuing to make key contributions to global nuclear safety and to our shared goal of protecting people and the environment. I look forward to many more years of close collaboration with the Lab and Director Marc Cadisch.

Just finished collecting seawater samples near Fukushima Daiichi NPS with experts from China, South Korea, Switzerland & @IAEAorg. This is part of additional measures to facilitate broader participation in monitoring treated water release and independently verify safety.
At the @iaeaorg Ministerial Conference, director of Swiss Federal office of Energy @BenoitRevaz, highlighted how Switzerland supports and strengthens the Agency’s nuclear science and technologies through Swiss institutions such as @SpiezLab, @EPFL and @EawagResearch.
