Colonialism means coming to someone else’s country and violently imposing your culture and then complaining about people coming to that same country and imposing their culture (even though they really aren’t).
Casting my vote today is the privilege and honour we all have as Australians.
We hold the power to determine the future we want for this country.
We hold the power to improve our relationship with our First Peoples - to recognise them and to give them a Voice.
Vote Yes.
There are two fundamental responses to the prospect of change: hope and fear. Not a single positive development in human history has come from fear.
In the end, that's why we're saying Yes to the Voice.
The Voice is a simple proposal from Indigenous Australians for practical change.
To kick off the last week of the Yes campaign, I talked about it on @sunriseon7, @TheTodayShow, @ABCTV News Breakfast and @SkyNewsAust First Edition.
Here’s a bit of what I had to say.
It‘s horrifying how many lies the No campaign is telling. If you’re thinking of voting No, just read the proposed Constitutional change: nothing about a treaty, or taking your property. if you don’t know, read up a bit. Whatever you do, don’t fall for the lies.
Vote YES
I’m voting yes. Indigenous disadvantage is a national disgrace, especially when Australia is blessed with the oldest culture on the planet. It must change, & recognition & listening is showing basic respect.
The No case argues the Voice will divide our nation . But our nation is already divided by advantage with indigenous Australians clearly disadvantaged . The Voice offers an effective mechanism to hopefully eliminate it-to unify.
"And I have never forgotten this simple thought: if the 1967 referendum had happened three years later, I wouldn’t have been able to leave Australia without permission; maybe I wouldn’t have won Wimbledon."

All Education Ministers across the country have unanimously agreed that a Voice to Parliament can help improve education outcomes for Indigenous people. #auspol
💬 “I think it’s one of the only ways that we will be able to see tangible change in my lifetime, in my baby’s lifetime, in the future generations.”
All Australians are invited to walk with us for an open, united and better nation.
#VoteYes this Oct 14.
