Texas Tech just released a 21-minute video that was supposed to be damage control...
Instead, it's 21 minutes of rambling around the actual issue.
Here's the simple version:
Brendan Sorsby deserves support.
Brendan Sorsby does not deserve another year of college football.
In ruminating on today’s tragedy, I was thinking about ways to honor Greg Biffle’s legacy. It seems to me that an appropriate way to do so could be the establishment of a top-tier award for the Cup driver who best exemplifies Biffle’s humanitarian and charitable legacy.
I think there might be some kind of sponsor-driven award now, but I’m talking about something on the level of MLB’s Roberto Clemente Award.
It appears that Greg’s heroic actions during Hurricane Helene will make up just as big of a part of his legacy as his racing, so the establishment of the Greg Biffle Award would be a wonderful way to permanently honor him. #NASCAR
Devastating news. I had such tremendous respect for Greg as a driver, and we shared countless tough battles on the track. Like so many others, I was inspired by his tireless relief work during Hurricane Helene. My heart goes out to the Biffle family and everyone hurting.
Fans are tired of the playoffs, tired of the gimmicks, tired of the car. They are tired of voicing their frustrations and being told by NASCAR and it’s paid media that their opinions are wrong.
So, here we are. They just stop watching.
But we’ll blame it on the heat, blame it on the night, blame it on the holiday weekend, blame it on whatever else was on TV.
Blame it on everything except for the fact that the product SUCKS and the fans are done accepting it.
Final takeaways from LSU-South Carolina from me:
- Of the three controversial flags against the Gamecocks, the hit on Nussmeier was clean and Shane Beamer deserves an explanation for the phantom OPI call. The horse collar was an unfortunate play by Kyle Kennard.
- When you rush for 250, have a punt block leading to a TD and score twice on explosives of 75 and 66 yards, you have to win the football game.
- The play-calling got conservative in the 2H. But without LaNorris Sellers in there, the passing game is handcuffed. Dowell Loggains did what he could with what he had.
- LSU, compared to SC's first two opponents, did a great job neutralizing the DL. Will Campbell performed well for the most part against Dylan Stewart. And Nussmeier given time, threw the ball well in the 2H. How teams are still getting (and winning) 1 on 1s with SC safeties is a bit mind-boggling.
- This is a bowl team in Columbia. They need more consistency at the WR spot, but offensive line play has improved and Sellers will only get better. That pass rush will give the Gamecocks a shot in every game the rest of the way.
I clown on Tony Khan and AEW a ton because they deserve it. Everyone wanted them to succeed from the start. Tony and his cronies have ruined any chance for a true alternative and legitimate competitor to WWE. There will never again be someone with bottomless pockets, tv connections, and no need to worry about turning a profit. It’s a company that lacks leadership, knowledge, or self-awareness that lives in a state of denial, and on the internet, while hurling insults at WWE and fans that don’t praise them 100% of the time. It really is a shame.
