@nestopapuri64 Also they wanted to make Class 87 and a 47XX(I would sell my soul for Silver Seal one) in 1980 but it never got a protorype AFAIK, there also was a Prototype for Duke of Gloucester and an idea for coaches with openable doors. There were also GWR 5600 and LNER V1 in development.

Interesting but bittersweet thing I stumbled on. In the 1950s, a clumsy Riddles engine ran away in reverse and went through a wall.

The damage and repair to the wall was still visible until around 2025 when the tore it down :(

Yesterday, I acquired a copy of the only photo (at least to my knowledge) of the real Max. After scanning it at a resolution 3-4x larger than any other scan I've seen of the photo, I came to the realization that 68844 still wore Gill Sans lettering by the time of its withdrawal.
