Anglicans Embrace Plastic Free July Campaign.
Plastic Free July is a global movement that began in 2011, inspiring millions across 190 countries to take small steps to reduce plastic use and pressure companies to cut back on plastic production. The initiative runs throughout July, promoting sustainable living and environmental stewardship.
This year, the Anglican Communion Environmental Network is spotlighting the impact of plastic on the most vulnerable communities. Their campaign centres around four key issues:
-Plastic waste leads to flooding
-Burning plastic is poisonous
-Plastic pollution threatens jobs
-Plastic increases climate change
The Green Anglicans are highlighting the impact of plastic through a creative TikTok campaign. Check out their latest video here: https://t.co/6o5we2N33s
The Revd Rachel Mash, Coordinator of the Anglican Communion Environmental Network, offered her insights on the Plastic Free July campaign during an interview on Cape Town TV: https://t.co/IpgReeDfbw
While July is the spotlight month, 89% of participants have reported making permanent changes in their lifestyles. If you haven’t joined the movement yet, it’s not too late to action: https://t.co/i8ckEQIQgV

I am appalled by the news that @WSJ's Evan Gershkovich has been sentenced to 16 years in prison.
Journalists worldwide should be free to hold power to account without fear.
We pray for the hundreds of journalists currently imprisoned for their vital work.
My conscience is troubled… what does that demand of you?
(My reflections on why appeals to conscience to justify major changes to CofE structures are misplaced)
