“Dissident Right” is objectively a worse term than “Alternative Right.” “Alternative” has a resonance of hopeful legitimacy - i.e., “a better alternative.”
A dissident, by contrast, has no future. He is disconnected, powerless, and ultimately useless.
Semantics do matter.
Republican Vivek Ramaswamy is facing backlash over an ad featuring his opponent Amy Acton’s estranged mother urging voters not to elect her.
Acton’s mother lost custody of her children after her husband was charged with sexually abusing Acton as a child.
You can really tell Vivek thought Indians were on the road to becoming the new top caste in America and now that it’s all crumbling before his eyes he can barely contain his superiority complex and contempt for the people he thinks should be rightfully beneath him
🇺🇸🇮🇳 Vivek Ramaswamy is facing intense backlash after releasing an ad featuring his political opponent Amy Acton's own mother disavowing her.
Acton's mother lost custody of her children after years of documented neglect, including time spent living in a tent and a spouse who sexually abused Amy. Acton's brother has also confirmed this story.
Ramaswamy's betting odds for winning the gubernatorial race have plunged sharply since the release of the video.
It is super odd to me that casually dressing well is treated by American millennials and Zoomers as a cringe larp. All of their heroes dress well. They WANT to look attractive. But the moment a guy does, expect to hear "holy larp".
Never seen such self-sabotaging generations.
“Our House” was released in November 1982 as the lead single from The Rise & Fall and became Madness' biggest international hit. It reached No. 5 on the UK Singles Chart and, in 1983, became the band's biggest American success by reaching No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song also won Best Pop Song at the 1983 Ivor Novello Awards. The Rise & Fall was not released in the United States at the time, instead, “Our House” was included on the American compilation Madness in 1983, helping introduce the band to a much wider US audience.
The song grew out of Chas Smash's idea that the band members should write songs about their different family backgrounds. While the others did not pursue the idea, Smash turned his own experience of family life into a warm and nostalgic portrait of a busy working-class household.
I hate “JD” Vance in a way I can’t put into words. Ukrainian civilians are being bombed, yet “JD” is worried about Russian gas. Is it some fruitless attempt to lower prices before the midterms? Or simply a last-ditch attempt to rescue the decrepit country that “trads” and “post-liberals” love so much? Either way, he’s a Vatnik. I’d support AOC over him if it came to that. #NeverVance
Alexis Texas and Nicki Benz say they MISS the pre only f@ns era of p0rn, claiming the 2014–2015 days were better than the industry today 😳
They explain that shoots back then usually had like 5–10 people on set, making the environment feel more intimate and like a family.
Alexis says her seniors used to tell her how easy she had it compared to their generation. Now, she’s become one of those veterans looking back at the industry and feeling the same way.
“The industry was simpler, way more fun, it was more intimate.”👀
@DaudReaboi That is an amazing story. He is a creative genius, no doubt about it. I’m actually not surprised about his beliefs as his works are a fascinating exploration of damnation. Pinhead is my favorite slasher villain bar none.
