#rplanet was the worst move I made in the NFT bull run of 2021. Even worst then turning down three bored aps at $1200 each. What rplanet did to some of us was criminal. $WAXP

It seems $DEC has been struggling to keep its peg recently with the @splinterlands company burning large amounts of $SPS to restore their treasury. But, is this all bad? Not necessarily...

1) Cheaper DEC = cheaper Rebellion packs, this is part of the "product backed stablecoin design"
2) More DEC burn per dollar spent from 2% market fees
3) The company burning SPS when SPS is cheaper means more SPS permanently out of circulation with lower DEC inflation. Since DECs are also below peg right now, players are the ultimate beneficiaries of the company's loss.

Now, the company doesn't have infinite SPS, they will run out at some point and again rely on purchasing DECs from the market. I also personally doubt they will burn all their SPS, but that's just speculation. At this point, DEC inflation will go back to near zero, with multiple burns, sinks and use cases implemented throughout the Splinterlands ecosystem, I personally believe the economics dictate DECs are destined to go back to peg.

The question now is how low will DECs go before we go back up? Have we bottomed or is this just the start of another multi-month depeg? I don't know, but what I do believe in is what we are seeing now is another potential opportunity for those who missed out on cheap DECs all those months ago🙂
