On this day in 1967, The Doors released STRANGE DAYS.
Building on the sound of their debut while venturing into new territory, the album introduced some of the band’s most enduring tracks, including “People Are Strange,” “Love Me Two Times,” and “When the Music’s Over.”

“Can't Get You Out of My Head” was written and produced by Cathy Dennis and Rob Davis in 2000, during a remarkably quick songwriting session. The song was originally offered to S Club 7, whose manager Simon Fuller rejected it, and it was subsequently considered for Sophie Ellis-Bextor before reaching Kylie Minogue's team. Kylie heard just 20 seconds of the demo and immediately wanted to record it. The song's hypnotic production, minimalist lyrics and unforgettable “la la la” hook would go on to define a new era of Kylie's career.
Released in September 2001 as the lead single from Fever, “Can't Get You Out of My Head” became a worldwide phenomenon, spending four weeks at No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart, reaching No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topping the US Dance Club Songs chart. It reached No. 1 in around 40 countries and became one of the biggest singles of the early 2000s. Cathy Dennis has explained that the famous “la la la” section was improvised because the song needed another hook and that spontaneous idea became one of its most recognisable features.
