Two years of Splatfests in #Splatoon3 🤩
I had way too much fun choosing an outfit and pose for each one, and it made great use of our Polaroid printer. Can't wait to do it again for the next game someday.
I’m not going to lie. Today was absolutely insane… I’m still at an absolute loss for words.
When I saw that email pop into my inbox two weeks ago, I honestly couldn’t believe it. From that all the way to today I have been riding an absolute high, and not going to lie, for a while I was kinda thinking this was some really over-convoluted scam.
But as you all saw today, it was not.
When I heard you all scream in the crowd when I was introduced (and then later in the chat as well), I was honestly so shocked that I could get such a reaction out of the crowd. ME. Unreal.
But at the end of the day, the show today was for the players, and what a match you all put on there, so much back and forth, you all really showed the world that AU/NZ is a statement piece in the global Splatoon scene.
Huge shoutouts as well to @NintendoAUNZ and @ESLAustralia for taking a chance on me, and I hope I lived up to all of your expectations.
@FlukeAUS, it was amazing casting with you and it’s not often you only get half an hour 2 days before the event as the only practice before the big show, and with your wealth of experience casting it was so easy for me to take to the big stage.
Finally, I also know there are so many other faces in this community who could have EASILY taken this role I got today. I believe in my heart that you all could have the opportunity arrive. Just check your emails, it might just pop on in.
That’s it from me! I’ll add all the photos I got of the event into the thread below (and sorry for the wall of text).
I am so grateful that I could come with Bev to Nintendo Live Sydney, as it's been 5 years since we've gone to NSW for Splatoon.
Seeing both @Nex_Spl & @TigerIguess battle on stage made me proud of how far they've come.
Thank you Tiger for the opportunity to cheer you on live!
Congratulations to Neanderthals on their win today in the Splatoon 3 AU/NZ Championship! Well played by Koj & Friends as well.
It was a privilege to work as the spectator cam again, and #NintendoLive was a wonderful experience. Until next time! #oceanink

We're hosting another Vic LAN, this time it's the return of amiibo madness! A goofy and unconventional tournament full of surprises and randomised fun. Open to all that enjoy Splatoon 3, regardless of rank or ability!
@DJParticle It also benefits the TOs in a way, because Turf rounds are way more consistent with timing compared to Ranked. However, I wouldn't want it for every tournament, or mixed with Ranked modes within a set, for example.
@DJParticle I'd accept that. In the context of competitive, I mostly prefer Turf as an early-stage "barrier" of sorts. When an event is expected to have lots of newer players that are less familiar with tournaments, Turf is a great way of simplifying the beginning for their sake.
